As a guy who was violently bullied and beaten up like this in high school, I truly feel for Daniel and the dread he felt in this scene. That hopeless sensation of being outnumbered, being overwhelmed. The part when Mr Miyagi comes to his aid never fails to make me emotional. I fought through this severe bullying with the support of other misfits who were also a target. The Karate Kid is a classic 80s film about finding your inner strength. Keep fighting, everyone! ✊❤️‍🩹

@@TheGreekPianist Yeah, the process of forcing yourself to face the bully is good for a young man's character...but let's face it, life can be enough of an ordeal AT BEST. There is no excuse for having people hounding others for amusement's sake. And all the 'standing up' in the world doesn't mean much when you're outnumbered. And even if you DO manage to stand up effectively, there's a good chance that anything you do that will actually get their attention will get you expelled or even put in prison...I have no problem with boys getting into scuffles...it's probably healthier than some of their other options...but there is simply no excuse for systematically tormenting someone. 'Carrie' is ostensibly a horror movie, but at the end, the audience is cheering FOR HER....there's a reason for that....

I was 9 years old when I watched this at the cinema. This scene was one of my favorites from the movie as everyone cheered when Mr. Miyagi took them down. After the movie me and some friends purchased the Miyagi bandanna. At the time I had been doing Kyokushin karate for about 6 months. The next class I went to after the movie, six of us were wearing that bandanna lol. I'm almost 50 years old and watching this clip 40 years later reminded me of many fond memories of that time. I got a little emotional at the very end of the fight because the clip reminded me of how good it was to be a young kid and enjoying life before the stress of being an adult and working through life challenges which can be quite harsh at times.

Whats crazy is that although Mr Miyagi ended up kicking Johnnie's butt and the gang, in Karate Kid Part 2, he ends up sticking up for Johnnie when his karate instructor put him in a choke hold for losing the tournament. I think its also great that decades later Daniel and Johnnie end up good friends in Cobra Kai. Whats even more amazing is that decades later, Daniel is not the little wimp that he was in the first few Karate Kid episodes. Hes become a major bad ass in Cobra Kai. My favorite part was when he took on multiple hockey players by himself. Looks like Mr. Miyagi taught him well!

About this scene: "The skeleton fight scene endured numerous takes because the actors complained that Fumio Demura (Pat Morita's stunt double) was hitting them too hard, which caused the scene to lose some of the choreography and authenticity. Fumio told the director that if he could use his own students they would get the shot in one take. The director agreed and they shot the fight scene successfully in one take. One of the doubles is a descendant of the legendary "King of the Frontier," Davy Crockett."

No one makes the conclusion that Daniel is the villain. It's a parody of the movie, and social media likes to buck against the grain for the sake of bucking against the grain. Also, how convenient that: A) there's a long hose connected to the sink, because that's a staple of 80s high school bathrooms, B) Johnny doesn't recognize the incredibly recognizable oversized shower costume that Daniel is wearing. Still, one of the greatest movies ever made, and the Cobra Kai series was the bomb.

Honestly Daniel started this whole fight. Johnny was smoking. Not even thinking about him. Daniel dumped water on Johnny yelling “ It’s coming around “ and ran off
