Hey Daniel mate. 1st thing Happy Birthday to you mate. The album is phenomenal. Yes I paid for mine on vinyl. I hope you're getting better mate, stay strong, I can relate in alot of ways I've been in and out of detoxes and rehabs for the last 12 years. 2nd thing, I love how it's almost the opposite to the way music is made and the structure in even the song list is fantastic. I love everything you do, I'm 31 years old and I think even I can make the statement by saying, "You are the "Prince" of Australia but even better than that you are "Daniel Johns". Be proud mate put your head up high, you fucken deserve it because in 50 years time, people will say their was only 1 Daniel Johns. Just accept and take the positives, ignore the criticisms, and keep on, keeping on just being you man. That's all I'll say, even though it's a big comment for KZbin, it's very few words in the scheme of things. So kudos to you Daniel, and lastly thankyou for the music, and continue to be you. Peace and love from Tom in Sydney.

OMG, I did not expect this. Those Theiving Birds is one of my favorite songs of Silverchairs entire discography. pt 1 and 2 are masterpieces. It's part of the reason that Young Modern is one of my favorite albums despite the hate it gets. I sit there crying to TTBs every few years. I'm glad I'll have this to follow up and wrap it all up.

Torturously beautiful and cathartic album from start to finish. Few albums have moved me as deeply. I hear threads of Barber’s Adagio for Strings in this but with subtle changes to be almost like an emergency siren. Modern genius. Wishing love, light and recovery from one world-weary freak to another.

When I put the TTB's songs together, I find it incredibly heart breaking. Im 2 days into this now and I'm swallowed, completely engulfed in emotions. Huge lump in my throat stuff. Sore in my chest and lungs feel like they are laying on beds of pins against my spinal nerves... .... A hugely needed time for stop, review and restock, eliminate and illuminate for Daniel, what does that look like?!.. it looks like whatever Dan needs it to be! Dan, please please understand you are the sole architect of your tomorrow. Your home lies nowhere else but inside of you. Its time to take more risk and go the rest of the way, you've already wrote an open letter, this album is a warriors battle cry, a love letter, a loss letter, a contradiction of all the parts that make you who you are. You are clearly an extroverted introvert, an antisocial leading man and thats ok, its perfect. There's no egg on your face at this stage, please go for it! Whatever you are longing for, you must allow yourself to go for it, visualise it happening for you and accept it knowing you deserve it. Lightning bolts actually do strike twice. Make you next move 🐴 (that's a chess piece!) ..............you don't need to hold any insecurity any more. The era of FEAR has been and gone don't let it come back into fashion.....I don't know what the Aria chart positioning did for you but in the greater scheme of things how does a No1 album affect your day to day living and your reality?! ....Its these types of Qn's you need to ask yourself. If you created a body of work that you are truly and hugely impressed with, wholeheartedly lovingly impressed by your creation and standing proud in your truth, who else's opinion matters? No ones! 🖕 What the right thing to do is to start getting a life for yourself thats full of colours, vibrant, airy, quiet colours with meteoric streaks of neon and duochrome and if you are lucky multichrome! Things that make you feel alive and give your proprioception depth and soul. Being independently happy and not on synthetic attemps at happiness or concocted feelings that are fleeting. Its obvious from this Album that you speak about being lonely, you can be alone and not lonely or in a relationship and destitute, yet you seem to be the type of person that wants that special 'go to' person in your life. Someone who accepts your not perfect as you accept them yet that someone who's always going to be your personal cheerleading squad. Someone who loves the bones of you and makes love to you and wants to know every inch of your body as you do theirs. Someone to sit on the edge of a cliff with and watch the sea with, feel your insignificance, just wrapped in blankets and maybe camp out overnight, watch the sun rise, be silly, toast marshmallows, laugh and joke together. Accepting eachothers mental and or physical limitations and accepting eachothers mental and or physical limitations, I can't say that enough so say it twice for the people in the back row! Not meeting someone and expecting them to change to suit and vice versa. That change 'will be' organic if it occurs. You're not at the stage of life where you can take a chance on meeting a lady at the start of her career who is travelling internationally. You are at a time in your life when you should be able to work on your music in your studio and your partner can paint in their studio (Im putting this in to stress she can have her own thing going on too) you come together and eat food together, go on drives, get out into the dirt and feel the earth between your toes, talk too much during a movie, then make love to that person and chose to wake up together and do it all over again. True love like this does exist. Find the person who has intellectually, emotionally and spiritually an equal quotient to you. You know, not buying cheap flat pack furniture as it starts of shaky and never lasts! As someone who wants absolutely nothing from you Dan other than continuing to appreciate the great music you have already put into my universe, I just feel and hear you in this album and thought that in a world of people communicating to eachothers with 2 emojis (if were lucky) Il continue to be me and be my maximalist all encompassing self. I just want to pass on love to a fella in Australia thats the same age as me, that seems to be struggling with his existence how it was up until recently. I promise it gets better. When.it gets better us when you start loving yourself, your mind and your body who are fighting each and every day to keep you alive, what a great job they are doing right?..Despite the adverse weather. I got to this pont eventually and its calm, its beautiful and I have a quiet mind. My youth was was misdirected misplaced and truly wasted, yet I wouldn't ever wanna go back there. I might not be where I am today had I changed a single hairs width of time. 43 is a great age to realise I have so much life left in me and its only getting better. I really want this for you. Different circumstances but I feel like your FN memoire has been the Soundtrack of my life. 💜💚 I've picked the song about eyeballs as my 1st Disocciatives track to listen to and love it on first listen. I'm away for a 2nd helping x

Innovative. Atmospheric. Orchestral. Ambient. Fantastically original melodies on this whole album. You unquestionably have an impressive ability to write/sing falsetto vocal parts. As fantastic as these vocal lines are however I do hope on upcoming albums you will feature a few songs where you sing the melodies from your more conventional vocal range too as I do miss hearing that timbre from you. It would only expand the musical scope of what you are doing if you were to do so as well and grant the listener an even wider glimpse into your entire sonic spectrum. Still this whole album is brilliant! Well done!

This song is the perfect epic and cinematographic ending to an also epic and cinematographic album! It could easily be the song that appears at the end of his own life movie. Daniel´s vocals in this song are insane! He is able to deliver so much fragility and so much strength at the same time. He sounds really powerful here. So much vocal technique and range! A lot of real emotion is also delivered while he is singing, giving you the impression that the subject of this song has a lot of meaning to him (so his need to revisit the lyrics of this song three times) and he really seems to need an ending related to this to be in peace. His voice gives you almost a feeling of despair. I love the instrumental part of the song, because it really creates, along with the vocals and lyrics, a very epic and cinematographic feeling. I must praise the great use of piano, string section and the absolute epic and dramatic crescendo given by the really epic drum sound. It´s also important to praise the great addition of Lisa Gerrard vocals (another musical genius, i also really love her work) to this song, providing a mystical and ethereal sensation. Another thing that i noticed, but don´t know if other people got it too, is that at the beginning, if you really pay attention, you hear a sound of a heart beating and then being opened like a lock or a lock (maybe from a door) that someone is trying to open and does it, opening it, before he starts singing (0:41). Near the end of the song you also hear a lock (again maybe from a heart or a door, or the two, because i can hear it twice) being closed or closed and then opened again (because of the double sound) (3:41). This reinforces even more the idea that this song is about something that he revisited (was closed and he opened it) and he really needs an ending related to this (he closes it again at the end). But the song ends with the same sound that Reclaim Your Heart begins, “it's like a loop that lasts forever”, so you get the impression that this two songs are connected in meaning, but also that the subject of this song may never have a definitive ending. Like someone once said “don't lose your heart you'll need it”, so now “Reclaim Your Heart”. Other interesting thing that i forgot to mention in my comment about the song “Reclaim Your Heart” is that Daniel says something at the end of that song in a language that we can´t understand (i read something like “I am yours bring the fire” in the genius site about the lyrics, but don´t know if it is correct). Maybe he is singing in his own language, a unique language that he invented, like Lisa Gerrard did in the song “Now we are free” in the movie Gladiator. I know he collaborated with her before, so this can make sense. This song also has a Hans Zimmer vibe, because of the also really epic and cinematographic soundtracks that he makes. After thinking about the lyrics, i get the feeling that it can have two possible meanings. One meaning can be related to the Pt. 1 and 2 of this song, so a very personal meaning for Daniel. But the other meaning can be related to the fact that in this version the lyrics have a complete different meaning, being now, in my opinion, addressed to the listener. I interpret it as a way of him saying something like, “This is me now, a solo artist, and this is what i want to do, good music regardless of musical genre. I will not lie to the people, Silverchair will not be back and i will not sing only the musical genre that some listeners want. I will do what i feel in my heart and who understands and likes it will be with me in this journey, and who doesn´t can go", so the lyrics “No more big lies/no more goodbyes/if the truth had versions" and "as long as you and i are together" being addressed to the listener. It is also reinforced by the fact that he chose this song to close the album (a very personal journey) and the use of repetition of the lyrics, to emphasize this message that he really wants to deliver to the listener once and for all. He really needs an ending related to this subject to move on, even after having finally embraced his past and all the parts of who he is. The only thing that i have to say to Daniel related to this is that after all this FutureNever journey, specially after listening to this album and really understanding it, i think we can now say that in some way we know who Daniel Johns is, we understand what he stands for and the decisions that he made (and needed to be made, because it was the best for him and for all the people involved), and we will always be by his side on this journey. Keep being the inspiration that you are for all of us, Daniel! I´m really proud to be able to accompany your life journey, through music and other art forms, and i´m really excited about what you are going to do next! 🤍

I am a "crack adict" with music since I was 6yo, way more than normal people (I already measured). I am 26 now, I listened to soooo many artists and styles. I have some artists I realy like and respect but Daniel is in a level of his own, I dont know how to explain it, genius is not quite right, Its more like destined, made of music, he can express things with 1000000% accuracy with his music oh my god I can't even say it. Its like hes THE rightful user of music. God we have only one and all the glory goes to him, but seems like Daniel is a chosen one for music.

This is my favourite song today. Its been haunting me all day. I feel several themes that keep coming into my mind. Firstly it feels like pure agony, a confession. At 2min.15 sec, lyrics don't get sung like that without being ripped into pieces by something..... 'no more big lies' ~ It feels like I'm lying to myself because admitting to the truth is harder. I can't say goodbye to things Id like to be able to kick because I'm not ready to live independently without something that's been such a crutch. Wondering about the paradox, what life could look like had X or Y had not happened, the way the music builds and rushes and Dan wryly purges out the lyrics and then it breaks to the staccato because it can't progress to sounding any more bereft. Intense sadness. Ending the album on a huge statement...I'm not settled and not resolved at the end of this track. I ask myself why anyone has a part 1, 2 and 3, If we are revisiting something in parts over the years we are clearly not done with it yet. Its a huge deal and its been a huge part of who we are and why we are the way we are today. When we are struggling to come to terms with how things turned out or our role in that part of our lives. For me its dreams, whether I like it or not I have the most haunting dreams that I wouldn't chose to dream. Yet the same vein flows within these dreams every night; Confrontation. Being a non confrontational person I dream about things that I didnt confront and stand up to even in my childhood. You can feel you are having a great run at life and then out of nowhere these themes pop back up in your life and Im talking out loud in my sleep again! I guess Il finish by saying the there is no version but the truth, what actually transpired. We acted with how much evolution we had at the time we were at in our world and thats why we cannot be hard on ourselves. 20 years later I feel completely different about this world and all the f$cked up "contracts" were programmed to believe is the right thing to do, that are designed by others to keep us all in place, like lemmings. I feel tricked. I am not the same person so why are we cattle prodded by society into making these life long contracts that are too complex for most humans? What we can do is make choices to change behaviours and habits, if its hurting us not to make these changes and we resist, then we need help to change. I'm 43 now and I don't want to be having the same conversations with myself at 53. Yet here I stand, confronted with my own selfishness and human desires. Admitting that Im weak and don't yet want to let go. So do I say thats it!? Im not lying to myself anymore I can't change and won't change or do I make moves to start becoming someone that I can be more proud of in 5 years? Or do I stop feeling guilty about my unique humanity? Stop feeling like I need fixing? Carry on flawed and know that I'm feeling like this partly because society wants to tell me that I'm wrong or have to change. Are beliefs that were taught to me as a kid interfering with my happiness because there is a part of me thats not comfortable with self expression and enjoying myself because everyone around me was struggling and so downtrodden.... I guess the answer is if I'm not hurting anyone I can carry on, otherwise I need to change. This is just a really f#cking hard crossroads in life to be at.

This is extremely tastefully done. It's so finely crafted, yet powerful and full. As with all the songs on this album, there's so much going on here aurally, like just next level production value it's quite insane.

I have to confess to something. Back in the 1990's I only listened to 2 bands because I thought being a dedicated fan meant I had to be committed to the one band I loved. I didnt listen and chose not to listen to Nirvana back then, still don't know too much Nirvana. I didnt know Silverchair at all. I don't live in a country where Silverchair were big (I don't think anyway...) I'm now in a position of finding Daniel Johns Music, started out with the song Talk. So after that I flicked into certain albums (I still don't know all the albums nor the songs which are on each album.) I'm a objective listener not influenced by trends of the 1990s, yet personal circumstances had me revisit my youth 4 years ago and I found other bands such as Jane's Addiction, Alice in Chains and Stone Temple Pilots. When I heard the STP song Plush, I thought it sounded like another artist I must have heard of the same era, that song was Tomorrow, this led me onto quite the Silverchair bender. So I have been commenting my thoughts and feelings on the FN album and daily (sorry my comments are huge Im a Maximalist type person) I keep getting flashbacks of things that have traumatised me over the years. I'm a much more whole human now and have a big bag of coping tools so thats ok... Subjects such as anorexia, even self destructive behaviour and self harm, I had no musical references for these when I was younger because I thought loyalty to a band meant exclusivity, so I've really missed out. I am However finding Dan's music every day and have so many songs still to learn. I have only just put the Thieving Birds 🐦 songs together yesterday and have more realizations now. I'm really triggered and really weepy listening to alot of the songs that I've just discovered today like "My minds own melody" yet I also feel its healing me too. 💔💜I have a feeling I'l hurt more before it gets lighter to carry. I know some things are really personal and maybe shouldn't be discussed?! I don't know, maybe someone else will benefit from the discussion, but here I go............... (Trigger warning mentions child loss.) In 2010 I lost my first ever pregnancy. What it did to me in 2010 was brutal. I remember thinking that it was the only outcome, that I couldn't even hold onto a child, that I was destined to lose it and have that outcome. I had been telling myself for years I didnt want children because I thought I couldn't have any. Moving on and having healed I now know that it was "fear" talking. I didnt think I was going to be a good parent. I thought I'd be a failure at it. This came from a childhood of neglect and emotional neglect and abuse. I did get my 1 and only son and Im extremely grateful that I did get a chance to welcome this unique person into my life. Yet that path didnt go easy. My son suffered brain damage when he was being born into the world which has resulted in him being uniquely neurodivergent. He is the love of my life my greatest achievement. He has taught me so much about life without ever communicating a single spoken word to me...at times its very hard yet the overall life we lead is beautiful. F$ck anyone who doesn't understand the blessing my son is to this world. Hes my teacher not the other way around. I don't care about opinions anyway, I am that bulletproof these days. 👋🦇Id also like to point out that after my son hesitantly sat through the large Daniel Johns bust head with a trapped frog in a porthole on the FN KZbin stream on our TV screen, he aggitatedly got used to habing this album on after 1 listen (my son has extreme repetitive behaviours and interests and has a favourite artist for quite some years then finds others ((he started off with Nora Jones as a baby)) He now has went from tolerating FN to having favourites to hang out to like D4angerous boy, mansions and absolutely loves the drama and sheer size of TTBpart3. Although my son can't speak a word I know he feels every musical note and the lyrics and tone better than anyone. He has given Future Never his seal of approval! Jonathan Maximilian loves FN as do I. Love to Daniel From an 8 year old non verbal boy in Northern Ireland, thanks for the bops! xx 🐸💜🦋

This song is a beautiful version 3 as you move through your life narrative. Movie soundtrack/cats musical energy by feeling the Hans zimmer vibes too which is the ultimate compliment (although you are on your own unique creative journey). The arrangements are bloody stunning and complex which is cool. Have listened to this about five times (and is only a few hours old since the release of which I totally got blown away by this in the live stream) Music can bore me these days so well done. Favourite of the album so far as I dive in. Kate xx

I’ve got to be honest!! As a muso myself…. Imagine if John Lennon or the Beatles, or Hendrix or pearl jam etc etc just stopped playing what worked and what the world loved, what they were born to play and share with the world!! This is daniel now, don’t get me wrong these new age songs are ok there not bad but there not GREATNESS!!!! The silverchair stuff and development is greatness!!! Even if kept on that road as a solo artist would be great!! But I feel like u don’t wanna give people what they want because u feel like it’s giving up a piece of yourself to plz the masses with musical greatness!! And maybe I and others are selfish wanting it, but maybe just maybe we are right wanting it!!! It’s a special thing giving the world something great on an emotional level….. Imagine Lennon or Hendrix etc still living today and doing electro fusing stuff… that’s not the gift you or they were given to give to the world!!! Stop fighting who u are bro!!! I get the discovery and self loving journey but this ain’t it!!! I say this with love man!! I grew up with u supported u and all the development of your career!!! But this new stuff is just ok and maybe satisfies u but it doesn’t edge your name into greatness we’re it truely belongs!!! Come back bro!!! Peace bro!!! ✌️
