They'll either self deport themselves or resort to committing crimes in which they will get arrested and processed then turned over to ICE for deportation. Companies that are hiring "Illegal" migrants and paying them "under the table" should either be shut down or fined heavily for harboring a criminal... and before anybody says they're not criminals. I first came to SF in spring 1984. The city of San Francisco was incredibly beautiful and everywhere I went was so clean with well dressed people all around. Pier 39 was so vibrant with painter booths along the street. Market street was so cool with shops. I wish it will be like that again.

This guy's not going to do anything. He's part of the professional managerial class and part of the historical rich people who have ruled over SF, the peninsula and NorCal for generations. He won't make the right decisions concerning homelessness. He will continue the sweeps to make it seem like SF is 'clean' and crime free, but the homeless will just move to darker, more dangerous corners of the city and die alone and suffering all the way. Lurie, as all other SF mayors before him, will ignore the problem and cater only to the rich and well-connected people in this town and will circumlocute his way through his tenure. Lurie should put HOUSING FIRST as the priority and SPEND THE MONEY to house homeless people in their own residence. Don't cry foul about not having money. Homeless advocates and hyper aware citizens of the city know that City Hall and California has the money to be able to fix this problem post-haste. But these craven politicians, many of the Democrats who are aligned with the Republicans on (anti-) homeless issues, would rather protect their jobs and their tenure than do the work that is vitally needed to solve the problem. Lurie should look into acquiring disused, unused and abandoned properties that are fit for habitation. I'm not talking about office spaces vacated by the pandemic -- they will never be able to be converted to proper multi-density housing. What I refer to is the thousands of perfectly good properties that real estate developers have kept out of the market for use only as investment property. Those cretins don't want people to live in them and are using the properties as a hedge against bad economic times. Any mayor in SF can do it, but Lurie won't. He just doesn't have resolve or empathy to do it. He'll be as bad as Pete Buttigieg or Kamala Harris -- all hot air and nothing else.
