As a man and father in a straight relationship, i have no right to tell a woman what makes them feel safe, and as a man in Daniels position also as a father in a straight relationship should have not commented on anything because he is neither trans or a woman. And with horrible titles like "JK Rowling’s savage transgender takedown" from the media is very disappointing. As a man we need to listen to women when they speak, while we may suck at it at times, if i learnt anything over the years of marriage is that a trust and safety is at the top of priorities for the women in our life, and if women are speaking, they are not feeling safe we need to listen. It depends what you mean by "women". Watson, Radcliffe, Grint etc defend TRANS women's rights, JK Rowling defends BIOLOGICAL women's (CIS women's, if you like) rights.
