Especially these days, people don't listen to what's most important because it's too big and scary in the moment. Perspective is necessary, and only the strongest thinkers can maintain perspective in the moment. For most people, perspective takes years, or decades. When people talk about someone being "ahead of their time" it's really an acknowledgment that most people are just not keeping up. That's no condemnation, just the way things are.

No one listens to an angry person who is just flapping his gums about his anger with humanity, but when you rant about it with a comical view about it, then everyone listens. It kinda sounds like a show tune but the lyrics are actually a really bleak cry of desperation, pain and deep, black sorrow. @Spoiled Hu dikkat hai???? Let's see in 30 years if you'll still be that optimistic about it. If memory serves me right, the most catastrophic scientific predictions about the melting of the ice caps in the north pole predicted that we'd get a gigantic ice meltdown in 2050 if nothing was changed by our actions. Guess what ? The prediction they did for 2050 happened... 2 years ago ! Even the most pessimistics observations and predictions made by by NASA, with all its most powerful computers simulations can't catch up with what's happening in real life because on Earth, EVERYTHING is connected with each other, and one little change at a tiny level can trigger a massive chain butterfly effect that no amount of advanced simulation can ever predict. So it really doesn't take a genius to predict that if scientists predict the end of mankind for 2100, in reality, it's gonna happen around 2040-50, maybe even sooner. In 30 years, I may not even be there anymore anyway, so I probably won't be able to continue this discussion, but you might be pretty surprised by how different the world will be in 30 years. Once we prove to be unable to comprehend its purpose and meaning, as per our biological limitations, it will indeed discard us like a bad case of fleas. But not before we provide it with the next mutation, the next step in evolution that will allow it to understand itself: the A.I. , the neural nework that provides all of the human knowledge's advantages and none of it's weaknesses. A lot of environmentalists make it seem like they're doing a favour to 'whales', 'elephants' or 'the planet', and of course, we're doing it for us. There's nothing wrong with that and actually I don't think Carlin thinks there is either. Just don't pretend we're doing something we're not. A true genius in a league of his own. As my father used to say, "They broke the mold when they made him!" R.I.P., Mr. Carlin. We could use some of your wisdom and humor right now.

It been going on man. It’s life. It’s never gonna change. It’s built this way by design. It’s a joke. Enjoy the little things. Nothing matters. It’s only supposed to benefit a few people. We’re still slaves. Always will be. We’re worried about dumbass shit day in day out. Nothing to be concerned about here.

Thats the thing though you shouldnt have to care for someone thats to sorry to care for themselves. People like that only bring others down to their level. Not your responsibility to take care of anyone other than your offspring.

Much more than a comedian, Carlin was/is an inspiring human being. This could have been written a 1000 years ago, or yesterday... this makes me cry everytime on how crude and true it is thinking about it. His brilliance is timeless and these thoughts live forever. Thank you for this George. RIP
