Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us! I am an aspiring designer looking to start my own clothing business and your videos have definitely given me the confidence to purchase a dress form and take my skills to the next level. Also, its definitely a major plus to see someone who looks like me doing such amazing things! keep up the good work. Hi Daniela! This was extremely helpful and detailed. How do you take this pattern and turn it into the final product? For instance, do you have to take the gathers of the sleeve apart to copy the sleeve pattern? Hope I make sense! Beginner here :)

Hi Daniela! Thank you for your videos! When a fashion designer wants to make, for example, a wool dress, is she "always required" to drape by using muslin first and then create a paper pattern that will be used on the wool fabric? In other words, can she just drape by using wool and make darts on and cut the wool fabric? The only reason I can think of as why someone uses muslin is to avoid costly mistakes since wool is more expensive. Is it common for a fashion designer to drape by using the fabric of her choice so that she can save time? I never see contestants on Project Runway use muslin and paper pattern.

looks great! i just got myself a lovely dressform. I have a - perhaps silly question. Once u are done draping, what is the next step? Do u use the draped fabric to draw a pattern for this design, or do u drape with the fabric u want to make a garment out of straight away? I'm a beginner and a bit confused here, haha!
@DanielaTabois8 жыл бұрын
I take the drape piece and transfer it onto pattern paper as a standard. I will show my process in my next video.
