"It Is Well With My Soul'," is one of the greatest hymns ever written because the BLOOD of JESUS has washed all our sins away, past, present and future, our sins not in part but the WHOLE!!!!! HE has regarded our helpless estate and shed HIS own blood for our souls. It's not our performance that keeps our souls well, it's JESUS BLOOD that keeps our souls well!! We are not the savior of our souls, JESUS is the ONE AND ONLY SAVIOR!! JESUS paid it all, the FULL price has been paid by Him!! NO ONE needs to go to hell because JESUS paid the FULL price for our sins!! All we need to do is BELIEVE and RECEIVE JESUS and make it our goal to become LIKE JESUS!! HALLELUJAH!! Horatio Spafford wrote this song after going through a couple of tragedies in his life. The Great Chicago Fire in 1871 ruined him financially. He had been a wealthy businessman. Two years later, he sent his wife and 4 daughters on a vacation to Europe and he was to join them later. He received the heartbreaking telegram "Saved Alone". All 4 of his daughters died in a shipwreck. You familiar with that story?

Amen. This hymn touches me every time I hear it. I lost my beloved Mom unexpectedly back in July of 2001 when I was just four years old. I had not yet trusted Jesus as my Lord and Savior (I was saved in 2018 at age 21), but the tragedy had me asking so many questions about eternity. I finally heard the Gospel and trusted Christ for salvation on August 5, 2018. And this hymn was one of the first I learned to sing, and believe me, it made a profound impression on me spiritually, learning to trust God even when the trials I face seem impossible. Daniel hello: I will love to see/hear how the singing in this Church has developed over time (from 5 or 6 years ago when this video was posted)… because seeing the congregants back in 2018, I'm somewhat concerned the spine of this beautiful Baptist Church is aging... We need to get a lot more of our children and young adolescents' back into the churches!!! That is what grew the Church..., and makes this singing GENERATION GREAT!
