You can’t get a better looking, sounding, or quality made drum set than the Armory kits! I’ve had two. Got one when they first came out and gave it to the school I taught at for their show kit. Missed it so much that when they came out with the Night Sky Burst color, I had to have another! Love this kit! Only thing I changed on it was the stock heads and put some Evans EC2’s on it. Honestly though, they will sound great with any heads you put on them because of the Soniclear bearing edges! Don’t know why more manufacturers don’t do this? To keep the price at $1000, even after all these years and the crazy hike in prices the past few years, this says so much about Mapex! They’re not price gauging like other manufacturers! Awesome kit! Can’t say enough good things about it or Mapex in general!

Mapex is incredibly underrated - I have an armory series with the fast toms and it is one of the funnest kits I have played.

My friends and y mentors Alberto Vargas and pipe Marulanda got mapex kit and they love it. I’m a dw guy however mapex is a good kit as well. The fact they make a 5 piece kit for 1k is good

I too am a DW guy but one of the best kits I've owned is a Mapex Venus set I bought for $297.00 in 2000. Still have it.

This kit was in my studio for years and every drummer was always surprised with the quality of sound with this kit. I since upgraded to a Yamaha Recording Custom which is almost 5k but for this kit at 1k the difference is barely noticeable. Great kit overall.....OOH and i kept the snare , that snare really punches above it's price for sure.

Just regular cymbal stands, the kit comes with cymbal stand attachments for the toms so you can attach them to any cymbal stand you'd like.
