The core issue is that conor thought because of khabib's nationality that he(conor) would be seen as the good guy and the hero, and it just didnt happen. Conor still had, and even today still has a fair share of supporters, but not on the scale he wants. And his mind will not let him understand it and accept it, he desperately wants to flip it. Its why hes done almost everything hes done. Remember the big interview, where hes turned over a new leaf and is humble and a good guy now, thats why he did it, but once he realized it didnt help he lost it again. Its why he constantly tries to point out any negative stroy about khabib, he wants to reverse the roles. It drives him crazy to this day. Its actually funny, the harder he tries the less it works.
