yeah i've listened to the whole audio series twice now, and if i had one criticism, it's that the way Matt writes his world descriptions, doesn't really click for me. The way he tries to visualize the locations they are in, or how this particular floor (Iron Tangle being the worst) works and is structured, just never really mentally panned out. I just kind of tuned out and instead focused on the emotional content between the characters when those chapters would come up. Otherwise I love the series to death. It's become the new Dresden Files for me, in that it's a series that I have actively pushed onto friends stating "You MUST read this"

As well as (goddanmit) donut how she in non combat situations is calm and collected, getting excited as she gets attention, and then when combat comes around she becomes rather violent "DIE MOTHERFUCKER!!!" or even protective of the pet they get later on. To write out all the things I love about it I'd need my own MUCH longer video essay. You didn't even mention the magic system or fantasy worldbuilding elements of the dungeon. Amazing use of a very hard magic system. Each skill and spell can do exactly what is written in the description, so those rules and limitations mean it's very understandable when someone uses their abilities in creative or cool ways. Like Carl using his immovable protective shell on a moving vehicle. Totally makes sense what he's trying to do. Protag feels genuinely intelligent and satisfying to watch!
