@@DanielKwan may be, I don't know :D thanks for clarifying. It was just a hint to use magnetic adapters for USB ports on remotes and LED lights. This makes charging (and your life) so much easier. There's a big known company for that, but you can get them cheap at known China shops too.

I have been bitching about that pointy aggressive wheel flares to Exway for years and they really listened. YAY!! (For anyone who has bigger than US11 shoesize, the old pointy wheel flare was a true pain in the feet. This was not from the foot position but the wheel flare itself. Even if you put your foot angled instead of perpendicular to the board it "was" still poking your feet but again, if your shoe size is smaller than US11ish.. it is not a biggy). As always, thanks for the perfect review bro. Good to see you back on board again!!!

I hope you can read this exway My exway flex is braking on it's own during high speeds. It happened 3 times but the last one really did it I was on gear 3 when brakes suddenly locked It tossed me into the ground really hard Ruining all the groceries that I bought People who saw what happened, laughed at me and I was there picking up all the groceries in the middle of the road while cars where honking at me Tbh I was close to tearing up at that point. I tried my best ignoring everyone around me and walked home. I searched about this issue and it does happen to the flex riot. Unfortunately exway doesn't seem to address this issue

Glad you've recovered! I broke my foot today using the backfire ERA. The motor came out of it's port and I lost the ability to break (without knowing). Found myself in a situation where breaks were important lol. I mentioned my concerns to backfire. Hopefully they will make some minor updates

I have a 259Wh flex that has served me well for over 500 miles! Only change I’ve made to it is cloud wheels. I have no need or plans to upgrade, but it’s good to see exway continuing to improve their product. A usb-c charging remote would certainly be nice though.

wow sorry to hear you broke your ankle also.broke mine on my boosted 3 yrs ago. plates and screws on both sides. now i just cruise on my evolve gtr cloudwheels setup. Can't do like I did before but still riding. good luck.

I got the HUB version to test here and OMG.. the CONCAVE doesnt look that harsh on video or pictures but it SUPER uncomfortable to stand on.. it hurts my feet. Its not great to ride on but for 700 bucks I guess thats fine, specially because the range is ACTUALLY like 40-50km on a 96KG rider.

I love the calculator for range. One thing that would be cool is if u added what u consider fast and furious and a cruise. For me fast and furious is around 20mph to like 28 mph but cruising is like 15 to 19mph and slow and steady is anything below 14mph. Another thing that would be nice is if u added a thing where it would say pounds instead of Kilograms. I like the website and its good know ur back on a board.

Speed is part of it but if you’re constantly accelerating and braking hard (lots of power spikes) at say below 25 km/h, you could use up more power than staying at a constant 40 km/h. So I’m purposely vague in those options and they’re there mainly to give people an idea of how different ways of riding can affect range.

Currently have a used boosted board v2 as my first board but the range is only a couple miles which makes it hard to use for a while. This seems like the best replacement for me since it won't be too expensive but i wnted to compare the acceleration, performance and comfort when compared to the boosted.

The website say that the Flex ER comes with 90mm wheels not 85mm. Why did they give you 85s on your board ?

Hi Daniel, new subscriber looking to buy my first board. I like the exway Atlas but it says the weight limit is 100kg, I'm sitting at about 110kg. I'm also looking at the meepo hurricane, which has a much higher weight rating. Of the 2, which would you suggest? I watched your uphill test from like 2 years ago, the Atlas killed everything else, any chance you'll do an updated hill test and include the hurricane?

What about the common issue where the motors completely lock up? I mean there are dozens of such incidents reported, this really discourages me of buying this board :/. Other than that it basically look great for me, i just don't want to be thrown off the board randomly at 30km/h...

Hey Daniel! I've been considering this board and also comparing it to the x1 max. why so? because with these summer sales their price is almost the same (with shipping added the flex er comes a bit more expensive too). For a person who doesn't really care much about the range and can stand a board that does 18-25 km, with a max ride distance from home of 7km (+ really tolerant on recharging the board in a cafe, etc..), is the x1 max better? i personally think it's much more fun to ride as acceleration and because of its weight balance also amazing to use as normal longobard.

As I own the X1 Max I can tell you that I simply love it. The performance may be the same (I have the riot), but the X1 Max looks so much more polished and professional. No bulky cases on the underside, very streamlined. Downside may be that the X1 has less "flex" than the Flex, but I use Cloudwheels anyway. If you are in an area like me where E-Boards aren't allowed on the streets, the X1 is way more invisible.

Great review. One of the motors on my original Flex Riot locked up while riding and threw me off. It was replaced, but now, I have a similar issue where the battery charge and top speed drop randomly while riding and the brakes engage, which is scary, so I'll probably skip the ER despite the awesome (and some overdue) upgrades on paper

It’s your esc that send the incorrect signal to engage the brakes ect if you replace that for like 150 ish it should be okay if more issues occur then I’d do an update on firmware
