I'm looking at her differently after watching this video. I always see her so intense on the court, and rarely smiles. Found out that she has a great personality.

You shouldn’t be making assumptions about anyone you don’t know, especially a professional athlete under a microscope each time they enter their domain.
@BPDBRETT8 ай бұрын
If you only watch a player on court it is difficult to get the whole person. McEnroe was the absolute maniac asshole on the court yet is super nice off the court. Tennis is a frustrating sport because your game can just fall apart on some days.
@ER_aka_RAM8 ай бұрын
@@BPDBRETT Absolutely… but that’s why we can’t gauge them solely from on court personality. You hit it on the head in your closing statement… ain’t that the truth!

This was a wonderful interview! Roddick and Danimal together on a microphone is the team the tennis fans need more of!

Ms Collins, Mr Roddick. Watching this interview was a true pleasure. I coach HS tennis, I play tennis multiple times a week in retirement. I don't think I have ever understood what wonderful human beings each of you are. Congrats on lives well lived (so far)! Thank you for the interview.

Andy is a class act. One year at the US Open, he was practicing on a side court and the entire perimeter was mobbed with fans. When he was done practicing he gave EACH and EVERYONE around an autograph from one corner to the next. And Danielle is wonderful as well. Thanks for having her on!

Hi from France, I have always been a fan since day one, when her pro career just started after college graduation. I loved her energy and her charisma since day one, and she went on to have the fabulous career I wished for her. So happy she accomplished her destiny and her potential. I really love her. Plus she is really intelligent and a good person. She is fiery and passionate and exciting to watch. Crazily talented. I always knew she was gonna be a superstar of tennis if she could reach her potential. She was already incredibly strong at the very start of her pro career. Already amazing results. I was hoping so many positive things for her.

Danielle has been my favorite WTA player for about 5 years. It’s sucked that a lot of her matches weren’t televised for a while but it’s been great for a year or so. Her recent success has been a big bonus. She is very open and honest unlike most players. I think tennis players like me really appreciate the way she goes about her business on the court. She always battling and fun to watch. How can you not love her?

Quick(ish) Danimal story-back when I was in college, I followed the top DI programs wayyy too closely. I have Eric Quigley merch, to give you an idea how into the weeds I got. I was watching the 2014 NCAAs, and the broadcast would jump between the men’s and women’s matches. I had seen some of Giron’s matches on KZbin already, but it was my first time seeing Danielle play. I can’t tell you how much fun it was to watch her absolutely crush return after return. It was like sanctioned bullying on a tennis court. I was actually laughing at how hard she was smoking some of those balls. I’d love to say I knew she’d be successful on tour. It was obvious she had a chance and could beat anyone on her day, but you never know what’ll happen after the jump. For every top college player who makes it, plenty don’t. So congrats to her for getting to this point; hopefully that mid-June deadline works in her favor! She was also the only player who followed me back on Twitter back then, so she’s always had bonus points in my book 😂

Tennis fans just see a tiny part of the players' life, they shouldn't juge their personality based on what they see on the court - Honestly, I don't really like when Danielle celebrates so loudly a point she wins, but I totally understand that players are filled with adrenaline and emotions, they want to win so badly, they train so hard for that, I just get it, it's OK - And I admire the efforts and the achievements Danielle has done recently ! I think (might be wrong) that the announcement of her retirement has kind of made her playing freely, and her talent shows up ! I'm glad for her, because it's a good thing to retire when you are on top ! I wish her the best for the future ☺

At 8 mins odd when u discuss the run in Miami this year is exactly what we felt nationally down under for Danielle in her semi-final run initially in 2019, she was the "It" girl in Australian media then go 1 step deeper in 2022 and make the final! What she accomplished in 2019 drove her to 2022....with Danielle she has this inept ability to continuously find another level...she leaves it all on the court!
