Keep at it Natalie…if there’s anyone that can orange pill Danielle, you can do it. Her response on quantum shows she doesn’t understand it yet. And both her and Jim are still conflating “crypto” with bitcoin. It’ll take time, but both are super smart and will get it eventually. Great pod. Have them on again after the election in November.

@@nuki3234 Great word! Love that. Actually I'm a big fan of Danielle's, actively listen to a lot of her podcasts and plan on buying her book Fed Up (after I finish reading Broken Money first). Danielle doesn't talk much about bitcoin, because she does not view it as a legitimate player in the world of central banking to which she is extremely familiar. What's odd however, is that for someone with such acumen on how broken...money is... that she doesn't seem to recognize the solution that bitcoin brings given the problems of central banking to begin with. Danielle is very sharp. Very! And I only wish she would spend a bit more time truly understanding what bitcoin is, and how it works. I can only conclude that she hasn't, given all the content I've seen from her - but I could be wrong. I don't think it's a stretch however, for someone who was so embedded with central bankers for many years, that she still holds onto the belief that a central bank run monetary system can still work, and that it should quite frankly. I think it's trust and faith. But, (as Satoshi says) the history of fiat currencies is full of breaches of that trust. I believe in bitcoin, because I don't believe in central bankers. And more people are waking up to this concept every day. I have faith that she will do likewise at some point too. Hope this is a reasonable response. Again, big fan of Danielle's, she been so insightful and is a great resource to learn more from. .02 sats.

Hmm, I didn't feel that Jim was mixing-up Bitcoin with crypto... I felt that he knows the difference... what did he say that made you think he is conflating the two? Serious question, not trying to back you into a corner.

He just doesn’t portray many of the characteristics of someone with a deep understanding of Bitcoin. The ledger he clams to use as a signing device is an inferior product to standard, best operational security practices. And his claims that UX experience has been abandoned shows that his level of research doesn’t go much beyond main stream media.

we do not know that yet. very early. so early that it is eerie that wall street is so into it. ofc could be just another product for them (def is for many employees in trad-fin considering their atrocious lack of knowledge about the technology) yet considering everything else going on in the world it seems likely there is a plan to use it to subvert it. and even if there isnt, the fiat incentives are still holding on strong in many ways. i wonder what is more important, developing world adoption, or first world adoption. maybe together something beautiful is created

There is no problem with private keys what is this guy talking about at the end lol. Bitcoin doesn't need the ETF (he thinks it does?) Its the other way around. The ETFs need/wanted bitcoin... No one takes custody of gold which is why its so easily manipulated. Most people will self custody their crypto I think in the long run as its wayyy easier than trying to store a bunch of gold or silver.
@vitamin-Dz
@vitamin-Dz 3 ай бұрын
I think what Jim was saying is that the ETF is not good for Bitcoin. He's saying that Bitcoin being part of an ETF attaches it to a legacy system... a system that actually Bitcoin is perfectly-designed to NOT be a part of... he said that it's just "lazy" for Bitcoiners to accept Bitcoin being sold within an ETF (legacy mechanism). Rather, Bitcoin-centric companies and developers should be working to create systems that are NOT AT ALL a part of the legacy system.

Natalie asks the right questions. Very Good! Two of the brightest financial minds that the general public has access to are butting heads, somewhat. It makes it hard on us trying to determine the direction of financial markets. There is a great deal of confusion in the markets due to the Federal Reserve interference, and due to the Federal government massive borrowing and spending. Markets don't work well with so much interfernece and manipulation. Good luck to us trying to determeine a direction.

Imagine we go back 50 years ago. You had to carry several credit cards in case the merchant did not accept the one brand. You had to scrape your card to make triplicates. You had to fill out the items and taxes to be paid, and sign it. The merchant kept two copies, and mailed one of them to the credit card company. Only a fool would have said credit cards won't work because they are not user friendly. And BWT, you still had to cardy cash as not every merchant accepted credit cards. Bitcoin will get easier to use. But it's not that hard to use right now. Just very different from opening a bank account.

Jim, viewing ETFs as the end goal for this space oversimplifies the landscape. Consider this: children in Dhaka didn't engage with gold in their daily play, yet today, young people across cities like Dhaka, Vietnam, Seoul, Delhi, Toronto, and Lima are actively engaging with Bitcoin and other chains. They're not just users; they're builders, traders, speculators, and investors. This points to a fundamental shift. You're mistaken to view America as the epicenter of this universe or ETFs as the sole path forward. We're witnessing the construction of a new system, a global movement that's gaining momentum. Developers facing a shrinking job market in the traditional corporate sector, is turning towards this emerging world of Bitcoin and Tao. They're not looking back; they're part of building something new, something different. So tay tuned. We understand you are a bull, but there's no need to lose hope. Including boomers is for boomers, not for us to pump our bags! Don't fall for the noise on X. No one cares about your ETF except for some of those American wankers on X

As a newbie about to invest, you must have these four things in mind 1. Have a long term mindset. 2. Be willing to take risk. 3. Be careful on money usage, if you're not spending to earn back, then stop spending. 4. Never claim to know - Ask questions and it's best you work with a financial advise like Rolando Diaz.....

here's the thing, 75% of BTC roughly 16M are with individuals (hodlers) mostly in cold storage or lost BTC keys gone. Another 9% is with Satoshi and the Miners, roughly 2M. Business and Govts own 6%. THE ETFs only own 4% with the remaining 6% yet to be mined. So who is selling? The tiny amount the ETF has and what is left to be mined won't turn this into GLD or other spot ETFs mentioned. The degen's as you call them are too late to the party. 80% plus aint selling.

I like Jim. Smart man. But I get the old man yells at sky vibes as he seems very passionate about how Bitcoin will not benefit from further adoption thru the ETF’s. Humankind is traversing uncharted waters with the first scarce finite digital asset. To assert that Bitcoin won’t do this or can’t do that is missing the forest for the trees. No one knows. I’m sure Satoshi wasn’t sure either. Bitcoin doesn’t care if Blackrock buys it. It’s tick tock next block.

In the US and Collective Western countries that peg to the USD, the analysis is based on a constantly debasing asset that is the basis of their economy in the form of USD. The USD is backed by nothing but the end users belief in USD value. With the military battle between US and NATO against Russia it is a very clear example of a 90 billion USD annual cost military up against a 1.2 trillion USD annual cost military with very clear results of the 90 Billion military handing the 1.2 Trillion its ass and this just shows that analytics based on USD valuation is not a good metric now. What needs to be used is Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) which now shows that China and Russia are topping this gradient. This is because both China and Russia have evolved economies that have more actual value than the US and any country pegged to the USD.

It's a shame Bianco speaks so strongly about Bitcoin without understanding it thoroughly. He does know that it's a transparent network, unlike gold, right? I understand it was a well meaning pep talk. I just think we can't tell wall street or governments what they can do with Bitcoin in the same way they can't tell us. Because it's a transparent network they can't print fake Bitcoin like the do with gold.

BTC was supposed to build a new financial system and absorb any remaining value inside the current system. Instead BTC is being absorbed into the existing system. Human nature never changes. Beginning of the end for BTC (and these ends are always preceded by huge price appreciations that appear 'uncorrelated' with DXY). The BTC acolytes of today will be the Peter Schiff's of tomorrow, still talking up BTC like he talks up gold, while it comes under the control of trad-fi - the status quo continues.

BTC is finite. Unlike ANYTHING else on earth. ETF's will only help people that self custody. US government knows they can't ban self custody without all hell breaking loose both financially and politically. First amendment...and too much $ lobbying to never allow it to pass. The rest of the world will embrace BTC no matter what the US does. The only way BTC goes away is if something better comes along or energy suddenly becomes free.

Danielle hasn't done the homework. Quantum is NOT a threat to btc as she is implying. Bianco mentions blockchain so he also doesn't know what btc is. ETF's are necessary for now, the new payment rails are being built simultaneously, he doesn' t know, hasn't done the homework. Hopefully ETF holders figure it out and sell & move to self-custody. Has a Ledger, so he is a shitcoiner. Almost there Jim a few thousand hours of homework to go.
