Another great reaction. You probably already know, vocalises are a common musical form used in classical music to challenges singers to exercise their vocal capabilities and date back to the mid-18th century. It gave rise to related music traditions in the 19th century and would later lead to the development of a vocal style used in jazz, known as scat singing. The words Dimash spoke in growl or vocal fry at the very beginning and the end were "Ascolta la voce", which means "listen to the voice" in Italian. He is asking us to just listen and feel the music without the distraction of lyrics or meaning.

"Know" is another Igor Krutoy composition. It has lyrics! And a vocalise section. For this performance, which I think was in New York City, Dimash elected to turn the entire song into a vocalise. You should check the original, too. It's quite different.

He performed a version in NYC, but this particular one was from his Arnau concert in Kiev, in March of 2020. It was his last concert before the pandemic stopped his tour. It's one of my favorite performances of his. I listen to it every day. ❤

It was also originally sung by Lara Fabian, though nothing quite like this. I love this as it also has that Middle Eastern vibe, the kind of slight warble or trill, reminds me of Rachid Taha or other North African singers, love it.

They showed his mother in the audience. If you want to see where his voice came from, try the song "Dearest Mother", where he sings with both his parents. His mother was an opera singer, and his father a pop singer, so, as someone said, it's like hearing Dimash's chest voice singing with his head voice. The song was written by Dimash's father for his grandmother, who was in the audience.

Vocalize (pronounced vocaleez) is a wordless adaptation of a piece of music. This is improvised off of Igor Krutoy’s “Know” and was performed originally by Lara Fabian. Dimash could sing the old phone books and I would still love it. Appreciate the reaction! Cheers!

Vocalise [ˈvōkəˌlēz] A singing exercise using individual syllables or vowel sounds to develop flexibility and control of pitch and tone. A vocal passage consisting of a melody without words. Rachmaninov wrote the first song with that title; Ella Fitzgerald perfected the singing style. Dimash is putting his own irresistable spin on it.

Hello Danielle I am your new subscriber, I saw all the videos you made related to Dimash the best singer in the world, I like your reactions, because you are a professional and connoisseur of what music is in general, I do not know anything about notes and those things, but I think it is not necessary to know or understand the language in which Dimash sings, it is that delivery, passion that he gives in each performance, I have two years following his career, and seen his concerts, not in person that is a dream that I have to be able to attend one of his concerts, if listening to him sing leaves us speechless, and suddenly you become addicted to everything related to the great artist that he is, now I leave the artist and what made me win my admiration and respect. He is because, being a young man, he has great love for his country and his family, he has a moral and spiritual basis that is most admired because of his young age, he has few interviews that have been done to him and he is such a cultured person, with so much love and respect for your country to his culture, and for him it is a great pride to show it to each country that he goes, as well as his native language which is Kazakh, it was impressive to see his concert in New York where people sang or hummed his Kazakh music, and that you have that Restlessness to learn your language, well that happens to me, if what I mean to say is that I appreciate being in the era called Dimash, it is a privilege and an honor to be able to say that I am your Dear, and one day be in a concert, thank you for dedicating a space on your channel to the best voice in the world Dimas, greetings from Mexico

The title is usually pronounced voca-LEASE or vocaLEEZ in English. It's a type of song without words that several famous composers took a crack at. My personal favorite is Rachmaninoff's; definitely check out the Fischer-Dieskau or Yo-yo Ma/ Bobby McFerrin versions. Dimash begins and ends the song with a demon growl in Italian "Ascolta la voce" = listen to the voice. I love that they let him improvise so he gets to blend his native Kazakh elements over a more Western background into a rich musical tapestry. God knows, the more east and west can come together in beauty the better.

@The Warrior 4ever nobody said to compare them or even find which would be "better". i only suggested to react to both of them, and i personally find that they add to each other ... similar (just listen, react, maybe state differences, and not judge for being "better" than the other) applies to many songs and versions, eg love is like a dream which was composed 25 years ago by Igor for Alla Pugacheva (and seems to have been quite popular), with a newer version 10-15 years ago by Lara Fabian, and recently by Dimash. all three versions are available on YT, and all with Igor at the piano :-) by following all those rabbit holes, i even also found a video where Igor was singing himself.

As always with Dimash, this is fantastic. But it’s not even the beauty and technique that amazes me here, but the ability to consistently remember every vibration of notes during rehearsals in order to fit into the musical accompaniment at a concert with an accuracy of milliseconds. groups. Either it's just a non-human memory (a quantum computer in a human head?), Or a partial impromptu. Try to repeat this with 100% accuracy, and so that it happens at least several times in a row, then you will understand.
