Magic Tutorial - How to Control Four Cards to the Top

This is a Deceptive Method I call RETURN which allows you to control multiple cards to the top of the deck, whilst they are apparently separated and lost in the deck. The best part of this, is that your participant not only sees those cards go into the deck, but she pushes them in herself… At that very moment, with no extra actions, the controlled cards are already on top of the deck!
Grab a deck of cards, follow along, and enjoy x

DISCLAIMER: As always, I never claim to be the original inventor or creator of my magic, deceptive methods or sleight-of-hand techniques, I only ever claim to have discovered and developed my magic and performances, in isolation, in an unorthodox manner, away from magic and magicians - a conscious decision made long ago in an attempt to always create, discover and develop original ideas that have not been swayed, misguided, or inadvertently influenced by other artists / creators.
Any likenesses or similarities with the work or creations of other magicians, creators or artists are purely coincidental. I believe that there is nothing new under the sun… When likeminded artists with similar ambitions attempt to achieve all of the wonderful and amazing things that are possible with a deck of playing cards, obviously similarities will occur and similar problem-solving individuals, will inevitably reach the same conclusions and arrive at the same destinations. It then becomes a matter of ‘who came first?’
The chicken, it was the chicken.
Before sharing or publishing my creations and discoveries, I always call upon a few close people who help me research so that if any similarities ever occur, I can correctly acknowledge, credit or remove where appropriate. Should my work, creations or publications share any likenesses that are not acknowledged or credited correctly, there is usually a justified reason, however, I do aim to credit and acknowledge correctly and accordingly so please, let me know if you believe that I have missed or not acknowledged when and where I should have… I am always learning and in my plight to advance the practice and performance of magic as an art, I will always do the right thing and offer thanks, credit and acknowledgments.FANX.

It's those few subtleties that make this work almost the same way a flustration count makes effects that use it. Showing the 9♣️ and tapping the others in with the 9♦️ really is the key to all of this (imo)

The psychology of the 9♣️ being in a different position shouldn't matter. The response is "Yes, they jump to the top, I didn't say they would be in any order" if you cop the dupe then you end clean and the deck can be examined so no harm at all.

Also, great way of modifying the surface. Another I've learned from Daniel, is to make whatever you own to your own specifications and liking. I've utilized this with a tv tray table into card table as well as turned an oaken bourbon barrel head/lid into a huge card surface that I call "sewer lid," I'm waiting for the day a ninja turtle will come off from underneath it. Thanks Daniel for sharing your life, philosophy, and life hacks with us. 🤓

Happy New Year to you too mate. Great performance and thanks for teaching another super trick. Here is a thing - if you slide the first nine near to the bottom of the deck, you can use that effect at the end by pocketing 9C and dropping the deck on top of three remaining 9s. Or you can slide first 9 to the bottom - then it will work flawlessly.

Nothing ordinary, as usual We can finally forget about contoling cards with Hindu shuffle P.S. When you said that it is called 'return' i though that you was gonna to toss card to your forearm and then toss it back on the deck (Some prisoners know what I mean)

@@beardedbiker333 It's because it's the most common method of shuffling in Asia I believe. I've also heard it called the Indian shuffle as well but I guess 'hindu' just stuck in the west.

It's unrelated and not as clean looking as this, but for anyone who doesn't like having to put cards in face up for multiple shifts to the top of the deck, look into the neal elias multiple shift. It's face down to the top in the process of a swing cut. I went years without coming across it until it was on a john bannon release. Much better than doing it face up and having to hindu shuffle etc
