Danya is the best teacher on the internet, full stop.
@AnkhArcRod
@AnkhArcRod 2 жыл бұрын
I beg to differ. Danya is the best teacher on the internet for players with rating higher than 1800. Otherwise, I would say he gets healthy competetion from Aman and Eric Rosen (who does not concentrate on teaching as much but has some really nice instructional videos). Aman's series helped me gain 300 rating points and I can still see it helping me gain another 100 points to reach 1800 level.

@@AnkhArcRod I would correct that rating range, 1400 or above can understand his videos, because I became 1700, after watching his vids when I was even 1300

@@7JC7 Obviously Danya's videos are very imformative and I am sure a lot of people have benefitted by them. But, for rating less than 1800, Aman's series is super helpful as well. Aman's style is quite a bit different than Danya. He loses deliberately to illustrate mistakes commonly made by lower rated players. It really makes an impression.

I love the way Daniel incorporates games with the same tactical motif in the video itself. Really adds to the game and shows us "real positions" in which the tactic was used.

Gonna miss this series. Danya... none of us would mind if you just start these over and over... 400 to 2200.... then 400 to 2200. I remember John Bartholomew's OG "climbing the rating latter", this is that series on steroids, keep em coming, please and thank you!

As a beginner it would be reasonable to think that a real-time game between 2000+ players (not a hand-picked example game) wouldn’t be very instructive since the level of play is so far beyond me at this point. But GM Danya’s ability to explain the primary factors behind each move, and his reactions to his chat’s suggested moves, makes even these games at higher rating levels so worthwhile for everyone 🙏

@petergriffin8767
@petergriffin8767 2 жыл бұрын
Ok, if you're really a psychiatrist can you explain how I play chess better than normally when I'm on my vyvanse, but continue playing just as well once my vyvanse wears off until the end of the day? Honestly not even really joking; it confuses me.
@Taquilou
@Taquilou 2 жыл бұрын
@@petergriffin8767 I'm from France, vyvanse isn't available here. But I'm a bit familiar with lysdexamphetamine. Answering a medical question on youtube is absurd and very difficult but I can give you my opinion, it has no medical value here of course. You will not find a definite answer anyway, because there is not, most probably. One reason that come to my mind, is the very long half-life of the molecule. It is is about 12h, so at this end of the day you still have half the dose in your bloodstream (it totally vanish at 5 half life, so you have probably much more than half of a dose if you take the med every day...), maybe it's enough to let you focus better on your game. That's the most obvious and easy answer; After ; there is probably psychological factors, playing well earlier in the day, let you play with more confidence and you do better even after it "wears" off. Finally it's not binary, brain is very complex, immediate release methylphenidate has a pretty linear on / off effect with a real "comedown", but with long acting methylphenidate (concerta/ritalin lp/quasym...) or with long acting amphetamines, it's much more subtle It's not a very accurate answer, if you find better come tell me, but this is not something you find in books or pubmed to be honest.
