As a Starcraft player since 1998, saying “gg” after you lost was common etiquette. Everyone said gg to signal you gave up and was universally seen as rude to leave without saying gg in Starcraft. I find it interesting the rise in popularity of the phrase gg.

Am already mourning the end of this speed run. Again! Again! We are spoiled with good Chess content now, but yours is easily the best. The way you break down your thought process is incredible - especially when you do your “I know lots of you will be tempted by this move” stuff… we are! Best teacher out there.

@@flavio5046 Wesley So is one of the top players in the world and was playing with white. Obviously I'd be thrilled if Danya had won, but a draw against So with the black pieces is a good result for anyone. @@cobra-gaming7662 I know that, and I know there is a so called super GM as an informal chategory above GM level. But at this rating level, 500 points doesn't make as much of a diference as in 1200 level, for example. A 1200 has more probability of winning against a 1100 than a 2600 against a 2500. Just reflect on that if didn't understand it at first.

Finally a good line against the French for white! Looking on the Lichess database, it seems like a pretty rare line too, so unlikely that most opponents will see it. Very healthy win rate for white, and the engine says only like -0.2 or so, meaning there is good compensation for the pawn.
