The endings🤯 Beginner me is still surprised at an ongoing theme… how common sketchy stuff seems to happen in the first 5 moves up through around 2000 online, and I’m only talking about when these players (that have worked hard enough to earn their rating) actually choose their opening in common situations, like here. Another excellent teaching session from GM Danya!🙏

13:35 Bc1 is not the only winning move. Bxe7 also works because after Rxe7 Qf7 Kd7, white can trade into a winning endgame (because white is up two pawns). Obviously I didn't see this, I put the position in the engine. Bc1 was an exquisite move though. Love your videos.

This man is absolutely speedrunning scores and ladders, winning without the tiniest sweat against elos bigger than him, can bring and breakdown moves as QUOTES from other matches like it's just common knowledge and I can't help but explode laughing at that one guy in the comments back when he was around 1300 elo calling him a scam saying that he's asking his watchers for the next move. And I love remembering this more now because this is exactly what that guy and more were talking about "oh he's gonna eat shit at 1700-1800" Some people sound like they just spawned out of nowhere with the ability to speak I swear

As a 1700 that often play passive, the appeal is that the opponent often can't leverage his advantage accurately, over extends and then you have the better position. Plus I don't remember many openings so it just what happens when i try to not play the italian or the london

I was looking at Rhe1 when you mentioned a quiet move that won, and didn't see anything there. Interesting that you didn't consider it as a follow-up after h5, just looks like a thematic move to my eyes. The brain can be a wondrous place though, and I never would have seen Be2! Only a master like this could see that move and know it's winning without seeing how. Good game.

The basic rules of positional play are being ignored by black who keeps on exchanging instead of keeping the tension and at the same time allowing white to develop. I see this premature exchanging all the time in my philidor games with white, and it is very subtle, but black is worse with a passive position to boot. I almost always just follow chess principles, always looking for tactics, and black eventually cracks as psychologically constantly defending is ego crushing, and most players have oversized egos.

He's probably the most gifted attacking player of all time. Either him or Garry.
