Un sospiretto? But seriously, he may have been told he had 2 minutes for the show segment and decided he’d trim that one down
@djw64304 жыл бұрын
@@ancienbelge Disagree. To use a popular music example, this is like playing only the first 60 seconds of Bridge Over Trouble Water. Either play it in full or not at all, especially as well as he played it.

@@djw6430that’s just how modern media works “play the first 1.5 minutes or you are boring” especially with classical musicians branching out to modern media

Its music, its not a sacred text. You can shorten it if you want, its not like ilegal. Liszt probably did it a lot.

Does anyone know what cadenza he played to transition from the beginning to the end? I want a graceful way to finish this piece while I learn the middle part lol

@@biffii5568 yea i guess he wanted to simplify it a bit, which would be sad, the thing about music is that everyone understands it, youve just got to listen more attentively when its as complex as Liszt

He played an abbreviated arrangement (probably his own).....he left out the whole middle section, about 3 pages and skipped to the last few chords of the piece. Maybe he thought that this audience would have a short attention span?
