1. Stop wearing tippy tops with everything 2. Over the top customization or cheap/bad quality 3. Wearing pieces that don’t fit 4. Not dressing for your age 5. Wearing colors that do not work for you

YES YES YES! I sold wedding and pageant gowns for years. My biggest pet peeve is when girls would buy an expensive gown and then order dirt cheap accessories (belts, veils, capes ect.) from Wish or Amazon. It cheapens the whole look!

Heels!! The last national I went to, (US in Vegas), EVERY girl (except 2) had on tippy tops with EVERYTHING- even interview😬 I was so sick of tippy tops by the end, I never wanted to see them again 😵. It was such a fashion spoiler. I hope more contestants will get this from you.

I can’t express how many times I’ve been ridiculed by girls because I prefer wedges over tippy tops and stilletos. As far as gowns though, it’s really hard for me to find a gown because as a miss contestant, I consider myself more conservative. Do you have any suggestions on how I could fix that issue?

I think it's possible to be conservative but still stylish. Sometimes that means customizing a gown.

They're not so bad to wear with some shoe pads, but I certainly struggle to do a great spin turn in them.

Hi Dani - LOVE the video content but may I make a small suggestion? When filming, wear a color that contrasts with your chair, background, whatever is behind you so you stand out more in the video. Thank you for the great information!

For this video you could have placed a towel or pillowcase on the chair back so there was more contrast between your top and the chair. Because of the limited lighting it looked like you had huge shoulder pads in your top. (It actually was kind of humorous.) But it didn't detract from your awesome video. Such good, honest, frank and actually helpful tips. Young women and their supporters could learn so much just from watching your videos and utilizing your checklists. I know you're on your way to great success as a coach and eventually as a pageant director. Not only do you know your stuff, you present it in a straight-forward, matter of fact way that is intended to help contestants focus on things that matter and not invest in things that are irrelevant to achieving their goal.

Fabric is determined by the gown design. It depends if you want to wear something flowy or more structured.

omg heels, heels, heels!!!!! Tippy tops gotta go! I don’t mind it for gown as long as it doesn’t show, but if they show it almost always brings down the entire look. If you really need to height, invest in heels with a small platform that flatter your foot! There are so many better options than tippy tops that are much more flattering and can better match your wardrobe.
