@@R9000 Jewelry holds value longer than used electronics. And Jewelry goes out of price point FAST. At the very least, some people really do enjoy the look of certain gems, but if that look can be recreated by synthetic means than it shouldn't matter. Gold and gems should be used in far more useful applications, like conduction or sharpening stones or something. People wearing jewelry if it can be a recreated look with fake is really really dumb as well as a bad investment. Designer electronics even more so.

And every time I find out some overpriced product (such as beats) are not as high quality as they like to make people think I get all smug. Also, Sony and Sennheiser are our most popular and highly reccomended headphones in store, I had a guy a few weeks ago who'd gotten a pair sennheisers, they wore out and we didn't have the same ones so he got some beats instead, came back a week later saying he hated the beats and we ordered the same sennheisers for him. One of our headphone guys also reccomends sony over bose or beats for affordable but also high quality headphones. We live in Canada so the price is super inflated in relation to the US price, but I recently got some Sony 710s and I think they're the best headphones I've had, I spent $90 on them with employee discount and on sale, they're usually $250 which as much as I like them, I wouldn't pay *that much* for them, so seeing dankpods endorse Sony, even if they're not the exact ones I have, feels very nice.

Apples phone are actually expensive af to make because they insist on using cutting edge technology for everything when there is no reason to. Shit like using parts that cost ten times as much as what most companies would use because they allow the phone to be a tenth of a millimeter thinner without making the case thinner. And using the worlds fastest and most power efficient mobile chips, but locking down the OS so you can't use the speed, and using tiny batteries so you don't even gain battery life from the advanced technology. They are the main driving force behind most of the advancements in semiconductor design because they insist on having the worlds best technology no matter the cost, and regardless of if it actually allows them to make a better product. The new Macbooks are the only products they have ever made that actually benefit from this technology. Other than the original iPod, I guess.

*Insert obligatory "But Proto..." line here* Yeah, back when Monster owned the brand, they were better. Especially the Studios (even though they still are focused on bass). Sadly by the end of the Monster era and in the current Apple era they have become a joke in the audiophile community and music lovers alike. What I find funny is that my Galaxy Buds sound better than my old Beats Solos. They lasted me quite a while before I sold them on eBay. I liked using them but i sweat a lot during high school and I sweat VERY easily and the plastic rubber glued on head band that sits on my hair comes off easily and kept doing RMAs on them. I honestly should have asked for Sony's but because Beats were super popular in the 2000's and early 2010's that I kept asking for them for Christmas. I know better nowadays and know that next time I buy nice headphones. I'll definitely find those old AKGs or even Grados. (Seeing how I have the Galaxy Buds G1 and Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless for Gaming, i might not throw money on headphones anytime soon.)
@darrenalmgren6342 жыл бұрын
My first pair I got of Beats I got for my birthday one year. They were a nice pair of the full metal Executives. They lasted maybe a year before the speakers went out. Luckily we had the Best Buy replacement thing. And boy was it a shock to my family when the only replacements available were all plastic and absolutely cheap. Those plastic ones lasted six months and I went through two pairs of those before we decided to screw that and switched for a pair of Bose instead. And those ones lasted much longer and sounded 10x better.

I get it, we all want that thumping bass that we feel on concerts or at the clubs when we really want to feel the music (with a prominent bass). The thing is, even though essentially all of the electronic music that intentionally have so much focus on bass do crank up the bass/sub compared to other genres, the methods used to achieve balance on regular listening devices at home is with other techniques than just boosting the bass even more. Think of the kick drum on a set, it has a low thump and resonates higher up on the spectrum at the same time, which we percieve as punchy when done right. If you remove the top end from a kick drum it will sound more like listening to a heartbeat. So a lot of the time in bassy electronic music they often have the bass have some top end as well, and tease you with not having much of a bass or a kick until the drop where the contrast to the previous sections will make it sound way louder, and then they also use things like sidechaining so that the kick can punch through the bass (making the bass quieter or silent all together) as our brains basically will percieve the bass as continuous even though it actually sounds more like putting your fingers in your ears when the kick is supposed to hit if you listen to the bass with sidechain alone. Additionally, cranking up the bass might seem like a good idea in general, but our ears tend to compress sounds to not get overwhelmed. If you accidentally put play on a song on a late night dance club level of volume you won't be ready for it (similar to shining sunlight in your eyes when you've been in a very dark room, takes time to adjust) AND that we tend to sort of make an "average" calculation of the sound as a whole with the ear's compression. It's not that the mids or high end aren't there, even when you crank it up a bit, but when the ear adjusts to you turning up the volume it will still not make the mids or highs clearer as it's "averaged out" in a way. Sub is slightly different story, while at the clubs and concerts you will feel the low vibrations throughout your body, and that's a fun experience I agree, but they have to crank up the volume to seriously harmful levels to our ears to get that effect without it sounding like a mess of a rumbly "BRLGRLRLHGHRLGH"-bass and no other frequencies. If you want that sensation at home while also being able to hear the music, maybe try the SubPac, which is a "backpack" that you put on to feel the vibrations of the music in your body. I don't know too much about it, but I've heard at least one person using it and saying it's alright. Additionally the company says that it can be used to enhance VR-experience and things like that (which might be true, but it's a super steep price for what I assume is kinda unrefined technology.

I had a Studio pair between either 2016 or 2017 and 2019. Mom got them for me as a gift (don't remember if it was for Christmas or my birthday). I thought they were pretty good, as the headphones I had up to that point were inexpensive and didn't last long. The noise canceling was also a plus, as I have sensory issues (particularly with sound) and I could just drown out my surroundings with my choice of music. That said, I had some issues with the Beats and my opinion of them wasn't that high in the first place. The noise canceling was becoming less effective at some point, the ear pads were leaving blue residue (it got especially bad when I was sweating; couple Queensland's climate with a body that's better suited for a cooler environment, and you have a recipe for disaster) and they started peeling (gotta love that cheap faux-leather). I put up with it because I didn't really have the money for anything better (particularly in 2019, as I was going to a university at the time) and I knew little about good headphones. I got the Bose QuietComfort 35 II as a replacement. They're still going strong, though the pads are also starting to peel.

What I learned about beats, is that you’re buying the logo and design , that’s it. Kind of like buying a purse or hand bag from a reputable brand, visatchi, gucci, madden. You could easily buy a bag or a pair of headphones hand crafted, but a famous label is gonna sell much more than someone offering the same thing for a fraction of the price, with a different logo. Similarly- Apple vs Microsoft.

Thing that really messed me up trying to make them sound more full and bright was I kept lowering the EQ but that just made it worse. I also like setting clearbass to 3+ (sooometimes 10+ with electric music) but that's just me. ALSO if you have Dolby Atmos I highly highly recommend setting it to either Movie or Voice, either of those modes really take this to the next level and substantially improve any remaining muddiness left over after EQ.

Depends. Typically popping in knuckles and most muscles in joints is caused by the popping of air bubbles in the joints that build up after a short period of time. But there can be other natural causes. For example my wrists and shoulders will make cracking noise every single time I twist them a certain way because they developed in an odd way where the bones will clack together. So there are natural explanations for popping.
