That is a reason I dislike a slider control for setting the volume. Another reason is that after using it for a while I'm concerned that it will begin to develop a crackling sound as I adjust the volume. That's why I prefer electronic controls for volume, my player (Sony NW-A55) has a hold function that prevents me from accidentally jacking up the volume.

@@DankPods Simple to explain wy the large FLAC player sound way better. While your other Phones and iPods can play music nicely on your high resistance headphones they greatly lack in the amplifier department. The higher you need to set the volume / the higher the distortion gets. Having a large amplifier helps with lower distortion and can take the generated energy from your large, high resistance speakers swinging back in your headphones way better. If you plug in the iPod into a dedicated external amplifier it will also sound much better, although not nearly as good since you still have an additional amplifier introducing noise and interference. Also sorry for the way i tried to explain that. Its a bit hard when you dont natively speak englisch * If you like the sound of this thing id sugest getting a Sony High Res Player like the NWA 45 series They soud realy good

That type of USB port is usually pretty durable, definitely better than a micro port, those flake out in no time. nitpick: the measurement on headphones in ohms isn't resistance, it's impedance which is similar but different in that it doesn't just tell u the load of the headphones but also the headphones' effect on changing the timing/reflecting of waves sent through it. it doesn't really matter for the average person to know this but if u want to do more reading into why it matters to have an amp then it's good to know the terminology. Also i fully expect someone who knows electrical engineering to come along and give a more in depth explanation nitpicking my nitpick
@clark5234 жыл бұрын
To oversimplify your nitpick drastically: impedance is to AC as resistance is to DC
@Jas75204 жыл бұрын
Yeah, another interesting thing about impedance is that dynamic drivers like those in the majority of headphones have impedance/frequency curves that vary massively, especially around their resonant frequency. Very important to understand because high output impedance sources like output transformer less tube amps will change the frequency response due to the reactive load

Source: I own a New 3DS XL with a FAT32 128GB SD Card fitted.
@ajddavid452Ай бұрын
I also have a new 3ds xl with a 128gb microsd, the 32gb limit on fat32 is just an arbitrary restriction of the windows formatter, fat32's max file system size is actually 2TB(16TB with 4K sectors), so this thing can theoretically read a 2TB MicroSD card formatted in fat32

The 32GB limitation is actually not a fault of the device, but rather a default of SD standards at the time. The SDHC standard only supports up to 32GB cards. It wasn’t until the SDXC standard started to be implemented that devices could support 64GB+ cards. Currently, this standard supports up to 2TB in theory.

One important thing to notice: when you want to have a serious audio setup with a great pair of headphones, get the right hardware to run them of! This obviously has to be in relation to the rest of your audio setup. So if you‘re running a $100 pair of headphones, think about going for a $40 DAC and AMP combo in one. But if you spend $2000 on headphones (e.g. Sony MDR-Z1R, I love them so much), at least plan $500 for a good quality DAC (like the SMSL-SU8 balanced DAC) and most importantly: a great amplifier. If you want the cleanest experience and actual tons of performance, get any of the THX desktop amps (789, 887, 888 by Drop, Monolith, SMSL). Only (and only in this case!) when you‘re spending

I could imagine it being used in a studio when you want to show your boss the state of the product without having them come to where the gear is. Just put it on the SDCard, bring some decent headphones, and bring it to their office, so portable in the sense of take it to a different room not take it outside. It would be extremely helpful if your boss is either on a different floor or even a different building, and they want to hear it as it would be, or as close to as, in the studio.

This device is actually very famous among Chinese HIFI people. About ten years ago when I was first into HIFI, this is like the first proper HIFI MP3 made in China. We call them the 'Chinese bricks' since it's just huge and heavy, and powerful. The company actually has newer editions that somewhat resemble the look of it, maybe you can check them out.
