From my experience the click wheel's ribbon cable can be finnicky on a 7th gen, since I had an immaculate one that just refused to work (plus the bent chassis can be bungling it). I'd say grab a 7th gen screen and click wheel and it should all work fine Oh and a new chassis to replace the CRUNCHY CHASIS
