My mum used to own one of the cookie cutter MP3s with usb. The only thing it had on it was a recording of her nan talking, as she had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and was projected to lose speech in a few years. Fast forward to around a year before she died, she was non verbal, wouldn’t really do anything, and needed constant care. I found the MP3 in a drawer and begun messing around with it, accidentally wiping everything in it. I didn’t know, but one of my core memories is my mum crying over a blank MP3 and you made me remember that.
