It was a little of both but mostly the four were fighting in a reverse world with only their minds and spirits battling each other but they still felt the physical pain in the real world and if mag Mel’s bakugan had blown up the hideout the brawlers were protecting previously then Dan and Drago they would have both been lost forever in mag Mel and razenoids world

If Season 5 ever comes out, I'd love it for Spectra and Helios to be the main characters, and then Mira and Ace (hopefully they're dating.) They'd be on some weird adventure where, idk, this time their long-lost mom is involved. And then of course, Julie and Runo are their aides for a major part of the season. The five would then be battling the main antagonist - some super powerful Pyrus brawler on a sinister mission. This time, Apoloniir would be the only Ancient Warrior guiding Spectra and Helios along the way (despite being polar opposites of Pyrus & Darkus) and in some weird twist, Spectra & Helios use both attributes towards the end of the season. And then of course, Dan & Drago make some brief cameos here and there, giving advice rather - something we'd like to see Spectra seek despite his overshadowing demeanor. Marucho has half an episode where he's in the process of building Bakugan Intergalactic Interspace, and Shun gets 0.25 of an episode - coming in the nick of time to save Runo & Julie from a near-defeat battle before returning to the forest to meditate for the rest of the season...hopefully untill Season 6.

Mira appears from the second season onwards as a regular returning brawler Oh, and Spectra comes back later on as well. He escaped on the Vestal destroyer, and appears alongside Gus in the first arc's finale.
