I am discovering copywriting at the age of 48. I had to close my hotel due to Covid. But I do not give up. I am improving my English and French, learning italian. Looking up for marketing techniques I came across copywriting. I will try to learn as much as possible from you. I will focus all my skills on this task: to stand out from the crowd of hotels in my region. My hotel is also my family home from the 18th Century. Thank you very much for your help.

I understand what Dan is trying to say here, and I agree--but the examples are not great. Exercise, for example, a combination of the two to be effective. If you are a body builder, sure, you focus on weights, but you also need cardio and something like yoga for ultimate achievement. And the phrasing is actually: "Jack of all trades but master of none, sometimes better than a master of one." However--as a beginner, you do need to start with one focus so that you don't get overwhelmed and, like he said, to eventually expand. You find this with any skill.

My struggle with copy writing is really, not knowing where to start or how to approach clients. For instance, I am passionate about video games, movies, TV shows, and books. None of these companies will ask me to write copy for them because they have marketing agencies already doing it for them. The only markets available in my area are related to pharma, architecture, and government. If I could figure out who I should approach and get started, then I think I can be on my way.
