For ideas about refreshing the kitchen, you might want to search through The Minimal Mom’s KZbin videos. Her husband painted the cabinets and talks about what kind of paint he used that has really lasted. For the countertops, they PAINTED her sister’s bathroom counter. Tom (the husband) was a total skeptic, figuring it would scratch, come off, fail somehow, but they reviewed it later and it has lasted. His big caution was to say that he would use the roll on kind in the future due to both overspray and smell/chemicals in the spray version. Side note - they’re also in Minnesota. Must be something in the water up there that makes you all creative. 😉

I LOVE the Minimal Mom, Dawn is AWESOME! So is Tom. I dont watch TV really anymore, its hard to find time, but occasionally when I do I'll pop over onto her channel! When I found out she was in MN I was like ahhhh thats so cool! Ha "must be something in the water" LOL Dawn is definitely the expert and creative one! Ive never seen that video though, of them redoing there kitchen or Tom working on her sisters bathroom counter? Ill have to look those videos up and check them out! I would love LOVE to redo this kitchen, its so dark and outdated. Even if I just do a mini makeover for now, I would just like to do something. One day Im painting the cabinets white, (possibly the bottom cabinets green, but that may not work because I really want to try and brighten up the kitchen) I would paint the whole kitchen white, I would like to redo the backsplash. The only thing I couldnt afford is the counters, they would have to be custom made, due to the shape. But I have to check out what Tom did, because if I can paint them, Im for sure doing that! YES! I agree 1000% I love using vinegar, I recently bought a huge jug because I always forget to get vinegar and I LOVE it! It works so well as a cleaner, I use just vinegar to clean my mirrors and window's too and works awesome! I agree with you too, I know the smell can be a little much, but like you said, it doesnt last long at all! And YAY Im so glad you liked the video! i love the singing part in the four season. I do the same thing when im cleaning. Have you ever thought about painting your cabinets or maybe changing the countertops by buying peel and stick contact paper? small changes like that may make it to where you like the kitchen more.

I really want to brighten up that kitchen, that kitchen is sooooo dark and theres not a lot of natural light that comes in so its even darker in the kitchen. I put contact paper on my bathroom counters a long while back and the contact paper kicked my butt HA! However peel and stick contact paper would be a really great idea for those counters, considering if we were to ever redo the counters it would be soooo expensive because there so oddly shaped ugh lol. My electricity went off and on for an hour. Lost internet connection. I am watching and will comment after watching. I heard your comment on needing your command center when you were working on the stuff in the dining room cabinets. You do you to continue the maintenance once you have decluttered and organized. You will get it done, it's all trial and error. As far as your kitchen, It takes time for you to figure out where you want it and how it will function for you and your family. Maybe try sectioning your cabinets in the kitchen such as baking, breakfast, regular cooking. Loved today's video, very entertaining and motivating.

I love that you are labeling! Suggestion that helps me… label the end of containers instead of the tops. That way you can see the label when you open the cabinet doors without moving anything. I use a ton of the pencil boxes and all of them have labels on the end. Makes life SO much easier!

LOVE when I spot a new video from you. My one suggestion would be to make duplicate labels to put on the ends (like the Painting one) of the smaller bins (crayons, etc) so they can be seen even when stacked on top of each other.

I dont know where my mom finds those cards but oh my gosh I think they are so dang cute. Im such a big card giver LOL. I have a slanted closet in one of my bedrooms and I decided to buy some pliwood and extend the top of the closet over the rod and a piece of wood from the top of the slant across to some wood in the closet wall which made me have extra room for storage boxes. I use plastic bins for my decorative pillows to store under the wood. Fits perfectly! I love it when I can fit everything I need at hand. Thanks for the motivation! Keep up the good work. That is such a good idea! Im thinking of doing something very similar. I need to go get some wood (Ill have to measure it out really well so I know it fits) and have it at the bottom to level the bottom. I wont have much space under that piece of wood but at least it would be leveled. I may add in another piece of wood to add an additional shelf? That closet is such a pain LOL. Danni, there is a very useful information I learned not too long ago: when people use vinegar and soda together, those two neutralise each other and make each other’s disinfectant proprieties inexistent. So I used soda first, scrub the surface with it, leave it for 10 min and finish with a little bit of vinegar for washing it off faster. I hope it will help you as well.

The key is to not use too much of either. Two parts vinegar to one part baking soda to clean drains. To make a cleaning , scrubbing paste; sprinkle baking soda and then spritz with vinegar spray etc. hope this helps!

Oh my gosh I just googled this (LOL Me and googling everything HA 😆) and I believe it stated that the solution left behind is basically salt water, I think thats correct? So this is really, really good to know that if you are using the 2 together that it wont be a disinfectant, its juts to strictly remove stains or hard build up, but if I ever do want to use them together and disinfect at the same time, Ill make sure to do what you said. Oh my gosh this was so helpful, Ill have to mention this the next time I use these 2 together. I wrote this down so I would remember. Ideally thats where I wanted to put it, I would prefer to have it in the 4 season, but I had read that the fridge isnt to be in certain temperatures, I think is was something like, not to place it somewhere where it gets under like 50 degrees or higher than 90 degrees!? I could be totally wrong on that, but it made me nervous to place it in that room because in the winter when the fireplace isnt going that room will get sometimes as cold as it is outside and in the summer as hot as it is outside. Great video..I have a story about oven doors. I helped my sister put a new igniter in her oven,so we had to remove the door. Replaced the igniter with minimal effort,but when we went to put the oven door on it wouldn't go back on. We tried and tried and I dropped it on top of my foot ..it immediately swelled up,put ice on it which didn't help. I had it xrayed and it's not broken,but still swollen on top and very bruised. By the way she had to have a friend come over to help her with the door and had to watch a yt video to figure out how to get the door back on!! Love your accent!!

OMG that is awful! Im so sorry that happened to you! I hope you're okay. That must of hurt so bad! I almost dropped that oven door, that door is so heavy, I couldnt imagine how bad that would hurt. What a pain oven doors are. I got the idea to remove the door from a YT video, it looked so much easier to clean with it off, that why I took it off and the YT video made it look so easy to take off and put back on, im like "oh this is gonna be a piece of cake" Ya, NOT! 🤣It took probably 30+ times and many, many days to officially get it back on, I will never ever take that door off again. Im glad your sister was able to get the door back on and I really hope your okay and your foot is doing better. And your so SWEET! When Ian and I first seen the house, we fell in love with that room, we've never lived anywhere that had a room like that, its my happy place HA! Too funny you said to place the plants in that room, I just moved my plants in there the other day... great minds think a like! I unfortunately can only keep plants in there during the spring, summer and fall then usually move them out during winter, however I forgot to move the plants back in there after winter. Unless, are there plants that would be okay in cold weather, that room gets really cold in the winter when we dont have the fireplace going. Im relatively new to having live plants/gardening, but I LOVE gardening and having live plants. Always so HAPPY to see you here with me Rae. Hugs 🥰😘

Yes! I agree 1000% I would love love to redo my kitchen, one of these days im doing a makeover even if its just a mini makeover, I would like to do something. That kitchen is so dark and outdated. I would love to paint the cabinets white (possibly paint the bottom cabinets a green, you know how much I love green LOL) However the green may not work if I want to brighten it up as much as possible and I really need to brighten it up. The entire kitchen would be painted white, cabinets would be white. I would love to get new backsplash, and great idea on the hardware, I didnt think of the hardware. Oh my gosh that would be so nice!!! One of these days im doing a makeover to that kitchen, even if its just a mini makeover! I barely get any natural light in the kitchen, and on top of it, the entire kitchen is so dark, having that window be bigger, that would make such a big difference, its sort of a goofy window, but I think its cool, im glad its there for a little more light. I totally agree 1000% light is so so important in a home, i wish the whole house had more natural light coming in, I think thats why I love the 4 season so much, its the brightest room in the house. What a job, wow. You should keep the 4 season room for yourself and turn it into your own office, I'm sure you could find a nice old fashioned desk on Facebook market place, face the doors with desk in the middle of the room, it would be so elegant. Dyson make an amazing heat/cool fan which would be perfect. I'm sure you have accumulated filming parafenatia and dont forget paperwork? That is a perfect office in my opinion. That is crazy that you mentioned making the four season into an office, so when I first moved into the house I used the back counter on the right hand side of the fireplace, as a desk/little office space and I loved working there. I've also used the other counter, by the sink, as a workspace too. I've always thought about possibly making that as an actual office area but I always wondered if it would look good, because I think more than anything I didn't know how to make it look good because it's such a large area. So then I thought okay I'll make the mudroom my office, but I just feel like the mud room is going to be such a pain to make into an office, I don't know what I'm going to do to that mudroom yet. But now that you mentioned it, I may just make that four season, like an area in the four season, into an office space??? Either the mud room or the four season, I would make into an office area. I also was debating on making the four season into like a formal dining area, and then extending the living room into my now dining room? If that makes sense. But That is a really great idea. Hey Danni, 😀what do you think about the idea to put some precious memorobilia out on display, so you can enjoy each time your waking by? I have some of my favorit photo album on an art shelf in the Livingroom. And sometimes i Look through them with family or Friedrich:) Or the absolutely adorable butterfly pin of your grandma, maybe you can put it on the wall with Magnets in a special Spot you like? (i you don't like to wear it. ) It's kinda sad to me to hide/store important Things in Boxes in the basment or attic i think. I totally, completely forgot to mention that table, I knew I was forgetting something, I always am forgetting stuff 🤣 so we have extra flooring from when we installed are flooring, its been sitting downstairs, we are thinking of placing it in the bathroom (We dont have enough for the kitchen :( but I was thinking of repurposing it and adding some to that table, I still have footage from when I started working on that table, from 10 months ago 🤣 its like, I either need to finish the table or let it go HA! so I wanted to place the flooring on the table, just to see how it would look and work, so its not permanently on there, were just testing it. Id also have to add more and cut it to size. From what you seen, do you like it? im undecided, I think i just need to just go to Lowes and have the cut a big circle of wood. And I would love to get rid of those boards, because I totally agree with you (ps that is so dang cool, a wood technologist, what a super fun profession!!!) but there not removeable :( I wonder if I just hammer it out, that would work??? @@danniraearranged about your table if im not certain whether something is for me/not sure if i like then usually its that i don't want it or it doesnt work;) maybe that is your answer as well:) i dont know if that's plywood flooring, wood flooring or what that is but keep in mind that sometimes floors can be covered with laquers/stains that are not mentioned to be with your food or drinks if you have on your mind to utylize that table as that:) but if its for another purpose then go ahead, if you wont like it you will know;) and cabinets i think that you could saw that piece, maybe try on on one and you see if its ok, from what i see it should be totally removable but i may not see something from these angels;) about a book that you wrote i am the same and always so so HAPPY when you answered so i would read an entire essay if you wrote it 🥰

@@danniraearranged do not remove the bit of vertical wood in your lower cabinets. It is actually structural. Yes it means that you have to think about putting larger things in the cupboard: how to tilt the object so it will go in and will it ever come back out again.

@@Renata_Staszak-Rzanna That is such a good point about the flooring on the table, Im pretty sure its vinyl (more than positive its vinyl!?) and never ever would have thought you might not be able to use that as a surface/tabletop due to what its made of. I'll have to google it, LOL me and googling everything. But regardless, you have given me my answer, I think the big reason why I keep that table is because it was my grandmothers, me and sentimental stuff, sentimental stuff is the hardest for me! I think what im going to do is offically put an expiration date on it. If I dont finish it within the next 30days, than I think its time to go. I would love to do something cool to it and make it look better to where I actually like it, but if I cant figure it out and figure it out soon, im kicking it to the curb LOL. Your so SWEET dear! My husband and I were both born and raised in Florida and the first time you mentioned the four season room I thought it was a name you made up for a room in your house. 🤦‍♀️ Then I heard someone else use that term talking about a room in her house and I said what are the chances they would both have a room they call “The Four Season Room”. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Honestly I don’t believe I’ve ever felt so stupid in my entire life. 😂 They use to call enclosed patio’s Florida rooms and I believe some people still do. Anyway I just thought I would share how different things are from one state to another. Don’t give stuff to your mom, you will end up cleaning it all up eventually. 😊 I do love all the videos and the time you spend with you mom. You two make me laugh out loud every single video. ♥️ I have empty drawers and cabinets in my house and I live in 1100 sq ft condo. We moved into this condo from a 2300 sq ft house with a 2 car garage and attic. I love living small now that our children are grown and married.

"pop" I don't think I've ever called pop...soda. or, like you stated, in Florida they call in closed patios "Florida rooms" I had no idea, you learn something new everyday. Awww Val, that seriously means so much to me! I'm so glad you like the videos! Thats everything! So I primarily use microfiber cloths, I have a whole drawer full, I usually never use paper towels. The only time I use paper towels is for the toilets or really gross things, thats about it. But Id say 99% of the time I use my micro fiber cloths. When I buy paper towels I usually get 2-3 rolls & it will last me seriously forever. I probably should stop buying them all together though, I dont like using them. When it comes to refreshing the kitchen, watch out for the contact paper on the cabinets trend. It will take SO much more work than you think and it will have a tendency to wear faster than you'd think. It can lure you in, but beware.

@@danniraearranged It looks so pretty, but I've seen worn contact paper. The thought of ALL THAT CUTTING, to be mad at it wearing in spots...ugh. If you want to try it, I'd do it on that dining area cabinet area. That way it's not an entire kitchen and you can think of it as a test, rather than a commitment. I like the tall tower in your kitchen with the outlets inside. Looks like it was originally an appliance garage.

I've had people ask me if i'm ADHD, as they noticed the samethings you do as well and I keep telling myself I should go in and speak to someone about it, Ive been seeing a therapist for my Anxiety, I should bring it up to her and see if maybe she can point me in the right direction, or even just speak to my Dr about it. There is a very VERY good possibility LOL that I am ADHD. I honestly wouldnt be surprises, it would actually be a weight lifted off of me to actually know.
