I am currently in the hospital with Covid pneumonia and am absolutely loving watching you clean out your house. Lol! You have given me such inspiration to clean out my house when I get home and get well enough. I laughed when you were talking about not measuring furniture. How many times have I bought furniture that was too big and horrifyingly just had to live with it for years! Ugh! Thank you so much for making my hospital stay so much more pleasant.

That was a breaking through moment for me as well when I realized I do not need shelves, draws tables and chairs so many anymore and I sold them on Facebook marketplace. The house has become so breezy, and no m8re extra, unnecessary storage place. I even got rid of a bed I never used. It was in the guest room and I never have guests. 😃 turned that room into a she room. 👠🏖🌈

For the longest time, with furniture especially, I would keep shelving and bookshelves and tables and things like that because it was furniture and I spent good money on it. But a lot of it I don't like and I don't want, so I kept thinking especially with that bookshelf "why am I keeping this?" Also a lot of the furniture in my house is too big for the spaces. It does feel so breezy and it feels like I have so much more space. Feels so good to let this stuff go. Thank you so much for being here, always so happy to see you here!

Great job! When you talked about the blankets and how much you love blankets, I thought I would pop in and remind you and everyone else who's on a journey to minimalism / reducing their belongings that we *are allowed to keep stuff we love*! It's so easy to forget and just look at what everyone else is doing with their minimalism, but we are the ones who decide what minimalism looks like to us. In my opinion the most important thing about minimalism isn't the decluttering process, but the act of stopping bringing in new stuff all the time. I think what you're doing with having boundaries for how many candles or wax melts you can have is also very smart. It's a good way of still being able to enjoy the things we love, while making sure it doesn't overflow again.

Also, if you make more sweeps through you'll start to see that the original goal was finding places for the STUFF. Then it moves to the courage to say you have to much stuff and why you have it, then you start to surf the top. Next sweep you're able to actually see the forest for the trees and see stuff that suddenly doesn't seem important. At this point the empty calm areas are so comforting. Next sweep you turn into a brutal machine. Pbbllt...you're out of here, why do I even have this crap becomes a mantra. Next, you start hunting, what else can go...gotta get it out...you're seeing how easy it is to keep a clean house and to do the stuff you never had time to do and you love it. Keep sweeping Cookie, it's the best gift you can give yourself and your family. More time cleaning and maintaining means less time with the people you love.

Oh my gosh, this comment, I LOVE IT so much! 1000% I feel like I am currently at a road block right now, I feel like I know I am getting to the hard stuff and I desperately do not want to slow down! Because you are so right, I already see such a huge difference in cleaning and organizing my home, it is a BREEZE compared to what it used to be! And being able to spend more time on the things that really matter, thats the main goal! completely agree! I feel like in this video I was more frazzled and sitting on items too long, or kept trying to convience myself. Its definitely not easy, but I really hope, as you said, once I keep doing sweeps it will get more easier to see the crap can go! Wait until I get to holiday and seasonal decor, ugh I am not looking foward to it! But I can keep referring back to this comment, if you only knew how much this comment helped! Thank you! Thank you for watching and being here with me 🥰

I have a basket for each season - Spring, Summer, Fall, and Christmas. That’s how I limit my candles, but to be fair, I do use them all and don’t buy more until I’ve used them up. I do the same thing with my hand soaps which I also store in that same cabinet. To cut down on the blankets, I, too, store them in totes with my seasonal decor and for my pillows, I buy pillow covers from Amazon or Hobby Lobby and use my same pillows over and over. The pillow covers r very inexpensive and I store them in my seasonal totes as well. Great job on donating old blankets and towels to the animal shelter as they always need them!

For me, as long as my decor is organized and I keep using it every year I keep it all because everything has a home. We moved back in December 2020 and when we were packing for that move I eliminated a bunch of things we didn't need, weren't going to use and anything that was broken. It was crazy the number of boxes we took to donation centres. And we have old blankets and towels to an animal shelter as well! I was also so happy to hear you took a picture of your unstoppable picture. That way you can keep the memory of what it meant to you and cut back on your clutter.

Hey Danni, I'm truly loving your videos. I love your singing voice. Since you are decluttering your candles I do have a suggestion. I used to have quite a collection of candles. Just last year we bought diffusers to put into the main areas. Instead of candles, I use my essential oils. I love my essential oils especially on a rainy day!!! I have one candle that I plan to burn in the fall. One. Just a little suggestion especially if you are having a hard time setting that boundary for your candles.

Your videos are so helpful. I am downsizing to a smaller home in New Zealand. We don’t have a lot of cheap storage solution options here so your videos have been the best thing I have found to help me get started. Realising I don’t need containers, just less stuff has changed the way im deciding what to keep. Helped me to be more honest with myself about what I will actually use :)

I just found your channel the other day. And you made me laugh it brightened my day. Also told my husband about your candles and how he definitely bets you on how many candles he has over 20 candles.

Hi fro Melbourne Australia, I love your channel, you are hilarious and informative. Just watched your latest video and saw that you moved your bookshelf in your entry way. You could turn it into a ‘mud room’ type cabinet. Add hooks, containers etc and the family can hang their bags, jackets, shoes etc. keeps it all contained and organised. Keep up your fabulous work!😍😍😍

I adore that quilt...going to shelter. It looks vintage! Someone should start a declutter/trade channel and if you see something you love you could trade for the "too many holes" you create! Lol😀😀Dani your living room IS LOOKING BEAUTIFUL. as I sit here in this mess!
