My grandmother, who died a good while before I was born (my mother always said of a broken heart after her son, my mother's 19 year old brother was killed in WWII) loved this song and requested it of Liberace on his radio show. (It might have been an early TV show.) He played it and dedicated it to her, but a week after her death. I don't know any of the main players in this tale but this song always makes me cry anyway. Beautifully sung my friend.
