Imma be honest. I've listened to this song 3 times now. It makes me cry everytime I listen to it. Her voice is so angelic, you can really hear the power, and soft tones in her notes. Many people can sing this song beautifully, but not many can may you feel the emotions behind it. I honestly don't know what this song is about, but to me it seems like a father or a mother waiting for their son to come back from a war or some sort of conflict. This song has a very special place in my heart. It my parents' "song". My mother was Irish, and my father met her when his ship was ported in Londonderry during WW2. It became "their song" during their courtship and was played at their wedding and both of their funerals. It always touches me and brings a bit of a tear to my eye, and your performance of it was absolutely beautiful.

This is the most powerful version I have *ever* heard in my long-ish life!! It's such a wistful and melancholy song. A parent (father?) who feels he may well be dead before his son returns, and is so sad that he has to leave. It's really quite heartbreaking.
