I just want to say that Jesus loves you so so so much and sees you in all of this, knowing what makes you laugh, cry, and jump around dancing. He does it with you all the time, and loves you so much more than you know. He knows so many things about you--your Creator and Hero. It's selfless love...which isn't romance, to help you understand. (Psalm 139 reference). Sometimes, in the Christian community, we fail to reflect God's character because we think that we need to be perfect and completely put together as part of the false world system that satan has seeped into the church. But rather, we're meant to know God in our mess, and thus, He sanctifies us. Christians are broken people that God is bringing together again. And there's also too many fakers. But God's main character trait? Love. Pure love. Selflessness. He's everywhere, even here in your brokenness, and you can't hide from Him. He wants to have a relationship with you, and I've literally been in His Presence, having spiritual oil cool off my head and manifest on my hands. I wish I could show you how real God is. How much He wants a relationship with you, and how that's what you were literally created for. It's not a lie. It's true, and no lie or emotion could make it untrue. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you...please! His love is unconditional! God is the only Hero there truly in in real life and He's so amazing! He saves us from death and sin so that we can be made new. He's exactly what we dream of without realizing it. He has saved us from death, sin, and hell...and all you need to do is believe, and let that belief cause a change in you. Let it cause repentance. Let it cause you to want God. Let it bring you into a relationship with Him. Please, try it out! Feel free to copy and paste this comment into any KZbin comments section! (Just don't copy and paste the following paragraph:) I want my channel to be all about God (I don't have much on it, though!) but if you want to know more, I have some stuff! You can also check out who I subscribe to...most of them post Christian content. (Some if it is kinda mature tho... Just a warning 😅). God bless, love you all!!

This song still makes me tear up so much, LOTR has always been my favorite series for books and movies (including the 1900's animated ones). When my grandma was dying in the hospital, she was too far away for me and my parents to travel to her. So, I played this song on my tenor saxophone for her through a video call. I spent most of my childhood at her apartment, her babysitting me when I was young, helping me learn and improve my saxophone skills, was the inspiration for so many of my hobbies. One of my favorite things as a kid was to read the LOTR and Hobbit series while sitting next to her. And then through middle (junior high) and high school, I would play my saxophone by her. So, anytime I hear this song I just think of her and my childhood. It just makes me smile and tear up every time, remembering all the good memories I had with her. In a way, I can't wait till my day comes to go Sail Into the West and see her again.

My Uncle Steven passed away suddenly August 22nd 2023. He will be forever missed and loved-we adored our uncle! We live on a farm and our Uncle would come often through out the year to visit for a few days. (He lived a few states away). He played the guitar and sang often for us kids. Uncle Steven and I would sit under the great pine trees of our woods and write poetry together. We'd take walks under the full moon for inspiration, gaze at the stars with my siblings, laugh and wade in the creek. He and I would talk for hours about Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. He loved LOTR- he is the reason I love the fantasy worlds of Middle Earth and Narnia! When he fell asleep in Jesus, that night I stood outside, looked to the heavens and sang this song for him. Thank you Malinda and Rachel for the most ethereal cover of this song. You both did this beautiful song justice and you have the voice of Angels.

@@Sony_75 I'm not sure what you're asking? Mortal coil is a term Shakespeare used to talk about dying. He used it in Hamlet's To Be or Not To Be soliloquy "shuffle off this mortal coil" to refer to dying. I meant that I wanted my son to use this song at my funeral. The idea of going into the West and "just sleeping" pleases me..

The best version of into the west by far:) Malinda is dreamy and sings the most beautiful rendition with such control, luscious tone with wonderous empathy to the song's gracious lyrics of what it is like to experience the elves eternal sleep into the west. Rachel also brings you into the world of elves regarding death and afterlife with her gift transporting you into the world she is singing about. One of my favorite songs and favorite renditions forever. It makes the end of all of our journey optimistically last forever and ever here "in my arms". Thank you ladies from the bottom of my heart to you.

Marvelous rendition ladies. I could listen to it on loop and never tire. As a veteran and a lover of history, this song makes me think of a poor lad breathing his last on a distant green field, pock-marked by shell holes and enshrouded by smoke. He is seeing beyond the veil of this temporary life into the far green fields and white shores of the other reality. Theoden spoke of going to the hall of his fathers where he would not be ashamed; same for the lad in my imagination. Heaven for me,something else for others.

I'm so sorry for your loss. When you take your life you are only aware of your own pain, not the pain your loss will cause to others. I made a serious attempt on my life, but by a miracle God kept me on this earth. When I recovered I realised what my loss would have done to my loved ones and it changed my attitude for good.

My mom _loved_ the LOTR movies. The extended versions were never not playing in the background at her place, if she wasn't actively watching something else. She adored the closing title to ROTK more than any other, and used to ask me to learn it so I could sing it for her, that she thought my voice would be perfect for it. I always said I would learn it, but it was a hard one and I had other things I was focused on then. And then she died at age 56, just a couple of weeks before the extended release version of ROTK came out, and I never got to sing it for her. I did learn it, though. I spent two weeks listening to it on repeat and crying, until I could make it through the song without dissolving entirely into sobs, and on the first anniversary of her passing, I lit a candle for her and I sang this. I hope she heard me and was as pleased as she always thought she would be with it. I still can't listen to the song without crying, though. Sometimes I can sing through the tears, but they are always there.

Lay down Your sweet and weary head The night is falling You have come to journey's end Sleep now And dream of the ones who came before They are calling From across the distant shore Why do you weep? What are these tears upon your face? Soon you will see All of your fears will pass away Safe in my arms You're only sleeping What can you see On the horizon? Why do the white gulls call? Across the sea A pale moon rises The ships have come to carry you home And all will turn To silver glass A light on the water All Souls pass Hope fades Into the world of night Through shadows falling Out of memory and time Don't say We have come now to the end White shores are calling You and I will meet again And you'll be here in my arms Just sleeping And all will turn To silver glass A light on the water Grey ships pass Into the West
