Danny is the only drummer that got me to turn my snares off when I'm playing along to Tool songs. He's by far my #1 influence on drums. And that's not to say I am anywhere near as good as he is playing drums. But his tribal, riding the toms, drumming is my favorite kind of rhythm and drumming. It's taps into that ancestral instinct that is hypnotizing and so satisfying to play and listen to.

he's a great player. maybe he should create a band he's got some potential

UHM... How to tell you this?! He is in a band, only, this band rarely puts themselves out front in their music videos. Probably so that computer effect guys and animators can make contributions, too?! You really couldn’t see his face with long hair while he plays anyways. I’m pretty good, too, only I’m not famous for it but it’s only my hobby. I think even a drummer who makes their living at it still has to be exceptional to really be remembered for it. Phil Collins? Buddy Rich? Either exceptional talent or maybe completely insane behavioral deviations could still get some recognition today, like putting dynamite inside your bass drum! Don’t quote me, that’s no promise! Maybe the new rock star idol will be these computer geeks and electrical engineer nerds who invent and innovate the newest amazing next generation e-drums and such?!

@@jimmy_jamesjams_a_lot4171 lol I was just joking I'm familiar with octopus man. but you're right! I mean for mainstream music (which I find disgusting) some people might be hyped but they will never be remembered past their last concert. Danny Carey especially is probably the best drummer to ever exist

This stuff deserves more attention, I really believe this could be the future of e-drumming. I always thought the Intro of Stinkfist was some sort of sample but turns out it wasn't. I also like the idea of using the Roland KT-10 pedal because they seem to be a more modern approach to make for a bassdrum than just replacing it with another pad. Do your pads also support rim clicks/shots, never really saw that they have something like a rim or something?

If you close your eyes it sounds like I'm listening to a acoustic kit. It's kinda crazy
@GlitchComputer8 жыл бұрын
I mean that sounds like a lot of fun!! I'm all about that fusion of electric pads with a few acoustic drums. I wouldn't be surprised that he does that. Live I'm pretty sure all those acoustic drums are reenforced with some triggered drum sounds because it always sounds HUGE in the stadium.
@marcoc.s.23728 жыл бұрын
the huge sound is gave by the ambient. sometime you can also take a few millisec out of a bassdrum and make it sound huge out of the PA (with a little comp and eq). no triggers.

Everything aside from the hi hat sounds so realistic. Seems like all electric kits have trouble mimicking a hi hat though.
@rexross51893 жыл бұрын
Yeah you really have to take time to dial in a good hi hat sound with electric kits. Gotta download some super nice samples and tweak them accordingly.

Thanks to Coronavirus, you, me, and about a million other drummers will have to wait awhile. The website has a WAITING LIST to just order a single Mandala drum!
@rexross51893 жыл бұрын
@@DrummerGrrrl it’s been like that LONG before covid happened. I think they gave up on the new ones or something. It’s really odd because I remember the Kickstarter campaign and you would pay actual money for like a two pad set all the way up to a full kit configuration. I wonder if the people who payed for that ever received anything in these last 5 years?

Need some demos on the Synapse showing different usage scenarios connecting various drum triggers, pads and sound modules. A Mandala snare, Roland Hihat and Cymbals, Axis pedals with ekits or similar and an Akai MPC Live or 1010 Music Bitbox or Elektron Digitakt or sample pads and drum modules from Roland, Yamaha, Alexis, etc

the final product will have cymbal triggers and you will make it. the goal is to have an acoustic style sway.

The articulation is quite stunning, electronics are usually so finicky and you find yourself having to compensate for trigger issues. Feeling.......Green Jelly as it were. I want.

It Sounds OK, but never reaches Dynamics and Reproduktion of a real Kit. It makes a big difference hittin PVC or a swingin Tom etc. It gets better last 25 years, compared to First Simmons E-Drums, but there is much room to expand... I Loved the Style Danny is playing, like on Pneuma ❤️❤️❤️
@marcoc.s.23728 жыл бұрын
mandala is good but these videos are really not showing its potential. you should work more on them. also danny is playing randomly. with a basic editing and a proper tune played it could be much better.
