The opening sequence is played on a custom designed Mandala electric drum pad that Danny himself co-opted to help create, made to sound like what i believe are Ghatams. And the following drum (pad) is made to sound like a Tabla. Both of south asian origin. Danny has spent quite a while learning different percussion styles and techniques to incorporate into his art, and studied extensively from the master tabla player Aloke Dutta. 🤘😁

Not only can he "do it", what sets this professional drummer apart from others, is that he also wrote the drum music for the song. I sometimes feel people forget that part. How do you come up with drum beats like that and make it fit a song from scratch? The creativity of these artist is amazing and was absolutely necessary to become a pro back in the late 80's and early 90's when these guys started out. They didn't just luck their way into stardom, they are extremely good a creating music.

Danny is one of the G.O.A.T's in the music industry, as other's have mentioned, any of the 3 bands fronted by Maynard are great choices, Puscifer has multiple vocalists, Co-fronted by Carina Round, gives you unreal harmonies, alongside a rotation of other musical artists, in various renditions of their songs. Then there's A Perfect Circle, Maynard and Billy Howerdel formed it in the late 90's and it's another band that you can't go wrong with any of their songs! Welcome to the Spiral!

L. J. Danny is a certified bad ass in this video. Be advised the first few minutes are him warming up. As the video progresses he does more and more! Danny had his 63rd birthday on 11 May. He reportedly has played drums since he was around 10. So I submit to you girl that anything you have done that long you should be good at. He is not good, He Is GREAT!!!!!!! My favorite portion of the video is coming up. When the overhead white light start to flash at 10 :22 or there abouts. Danny gets DOWN to the serious drumming. Parts of his work in this video are orgasmic!! He does ALL of that then fixes his hair! And finishes is full circle! I mean DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He’s a alien from Pluto! He’s not from around here! I’ve been playing drums for a long time and all I can come up with is he has a gift of splitting his brain so that one side doesn’t play like the other. He has the ability to play different grooves and time signatures with his right and left! Lots of practice and that ability makes a awesome drummer. He on the other hand has stepped it up more and can play four to five different grooves with both feet and arms. Not many people can play like he does and it’s really good to see people react to that because you don’t see this kind of drummer very often. Great reaction and song!

This is my bold statement that will either get a like or dislike but here it is. Master number 33 Danny knows his esoteric information 🙃 Edit: Hermetic Principle #5: The Principle of Rhythm - Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates. Danny flows and IS rhythm. He taps in, man.

Althou I LOVED the no talking style you did, just let the music play, other reactors have said that if they don't do enough talking and stopping of the vid they're redacting to, KZbin has issues because it seems to become some form of Copyright issue. I don't know if the pausing you did was enough to suffice the sensors of KZbin or not but apparently if it wasn't then just beware. Awesome vid thou and YES, reacting to ANYTHING Tool will get me watching, especially if you do this same style of little pausing thru them!! 🤟🤟

He has an amazing balance of knowing his craft as well as anyone but not taking it all too seriously. He has studied the art of drumming throughout the world and cultures, but again, doesn't have a chip on his shoulder about it.
