I've been following Danny Elfman since 1979. He continues to be one of the most significant influences on my music to date. I am always excited to hear his new musical adventures and enjoy being able to pick out some of those original elements of style and brilliance that have remained consistent throughout his works.

Danny said something about Gus Van Sant challenging him to write a piece about the mathematics of the singularity of a black hole which he has memorized apparently

not too shabby for a totally self-taught guy.

I must also say, that I’m a little underwhelmed. He is one of my favourite composers of film music. But what many don’t know, is, that it’s two different arts to write film music and concert music. Just as it’s a different art to produce techno music an writing songs. But it’s great that many (people) enjoy it. And that’s a purpose of the whole thing.

He wrote this for teens. Considering their age and who he is I think they did a phenomenal job. Go be a snob somewhere else.

@@jasonmaclean719 He said that he didn't let the fact of them being children influence how difficult he made the piece, if anything he wanted to make it more challenging for them.
