Ramin Djawadi is a real genius. He'd made soundtrack on the highest level of epic and the houses themes... You can hear the sea in Greyjoy's theme, the royalty in Baratheon's, the falling snow and sorrow in Stark's, dragons in Targaryen's, power in Lannister's and even connections between houses. I just can't wait for more of his soundtracks.

Is nobody going to talk about the “crying” in Rains of Castamere? Such a haunting and incredible touch.
@oahuhawaii21413 жыл бұрын
It's much darker than that. As another ASOIAF fan wrote, the muffled screams of the young choir girls represent the sounds of the children drowning in the basement when Tywin Lannister torched and then flooded the castle of the Reyne family, and killed all members of House Reyne of Castamere. "The Rains of Castamere" is played to foreshadow a cruel action by House Lannister, reminding us of how it destroyed a vassal house that did not honor its pledge to House Lannister. It's played from the start of The Red Wedding scene, where Catelyn Stark, her son Robb, his pregnant wife, and unarmed men of the Stark army were slaughtered.

I've heard people say that G.R.R. Martin is an average writer who only reached fame thanks to the show, and so on. But reading the books, and seeing how the show has ended, I can say with absolute assurance that it was, in fact, Martin's writing and the actors' talent that carried the show-runners.

Charlotte Trautmann agreed, the books are incredible
@130rne4 жыл бұрын
I've read a few of his other books, and they're good too. I think he wanted a magnum opus, a fantasy that incorporates pretty much all the elements and psychology of human history. I've heard people say they're the best series of books ever written. The actors are phenomenal. Season 1 almost exactly followed the book. But I don't want to watch the last seasons because I know what I'm in for. I expected the show to stray from the books and it seems I was right. When a show surpasses the release of the actual books, something is going to go wrong. Of course Martin is more popular now that it's a show, more people watch shows than read books. But those people saying that are idiots, the show came from the books, and the books are unparalleled, so wtf? I've read Dying of the Light and Windhaven and thought both were good. Even if you consider Martin to be average, if you ever read even the first GoT book, you'll change your mind. That tells me that the people saying that dumb shit have only watched the show. Martin turned himself into one of the best fiction writers in history and it's clear to anyone who's actually read the GoT books. Edit- a quote about one of his other books, The Armageddon Rag. “The best novel concerning the American pop music culture of the sixties I’ve ever read.”-Stephen King. If you say Stephen King is an average writer, you just proved my point. Here's a list of awards he won years before HBO picked up his show. From wikipedia: A Game of Thrones (1996) - Locus Award winner, World Fantasy Award and Nebula Award nominee, 1997 A Clash of Kings (1998) - Locus Award winner, Nebula Award nominee, 1999 A Storm of Swords (2000) - Locus Award winner, Hugo Award and Nebula Awards nominee, 2001 A Feast for Crows (2005) - Hugo, Locus, and British Fantasy Awards nominee, 2006 A Dance with Dragons (2011) - Locus Award winner, Hugo Award and World Fantasy Award nominee, 2012

As a society we will eventually forget the actors names, the directors of the episodes, and the producers of the show.. But the music composed for the show will endure for hundreds of years. Musicians will be playing these songs and choirs singing for centuries. These are the great composers of our day, that will define our place in musical history. When people in the future hear this music they will recount the story arches to each other. Just as we today do for the great symphonies and operas written before and it is ALL because of people like you on this video. YOU with your comments and your likes, keep and make this creation a masterpiece to be remembered..

What a cheesy comment. Firstly, some stories are forgotten but some live on. Shakespeare has endured for centuries. Lord of the Rings is still popular af 70 years on. Maybe the story of GoT/ASOIAF will remain relevant decades later who knows. There is no guarantee of of this music lasting centuries as you say. So many composers in our history and only a handful are listened regularly today.

@@JohnCocozza While that's true that songs have many views. I also love the music of GoT. But you cannot deny that the biggest reason the music is popular is because of the popularity of thr show. It was the biggest show on the planet for a decade so it is obvious that its music would receive attention. Even the corny Witcher song Toss a Coin to your Witcher is really popular since it was a song from the popular Witcher series.
@JohnCocozza3 жыл бұрын
@@abdullahbhinder9023 if a show closes and ends in a success then people will constantly talk about the story, relive it, pass it on. But when a story closes in a failure and a let down to a majority of the fans, then it people wont talk about the story because talking about the story reminds them of the let down. @@sebastianlodge7549 That is one of the most important differences in way of thinking between Denmark and USA you are touching on here! We, in general of course, do not "hate" to pay taxes, to make things like this possible in so many different areas of culture, sports etc. Sometimes it is for something you are personally interested in, and sometimes it is for your next door neighbour, even if you yourself are not in the least interested. Personally I have worked outdoors low pay jobs all my worklife ( retired now, when I was 61 ), and I very much appreciate this, even though i preferred the Tolkien piece, that "lead" Me here in the first place. The attitude you are presenting for us here, is also exactly why, so many in USA do not seem to have a problem with 45.000 people dying every year for lack of healthcare. That is not, who we are, as a people.
@sebastianlodge75495 жыл бұрын
Kurt.Dk-55 I’m Australian not American. So yeh, big assumption. I personally have no problem with public healthcare. It prevents disease outbreaks that effect me and saves lives. It is just the arts and non essential things like wifi, that I don’t think everyone else should have to pay for. But each to their own, I have full respect for Denmark, and hope to go one day.
@user-oz4dv2yi1n4 жыл бұрын
@@sebastianlodge7549 'But mate, this is essential. Countries are formed because of art, music and culture, especially countries like in Europe ( I do not only mean Europe) were it has thousands of years of history. What is a country or a certain type of people without their culture, art and music? Also Denmark has a population of 5,8 million and is the 33st richest country. I do not think the poorer working class really feel the costs of funding this, but that's a personal opinion. Also if you think about it, not only the musicians are paid with that money. How about the light technicians, audio technicians, cameraworkers, script writers, film directors, bar personal, cleaners, PR workers and the list goes on. Always think about the bigger picture my friend. This place also creates a lot of work.
