Honestly, I shipped Mindy with 99.9% of the guys that she dated on the show. But there was always something about her and Danny. Their chemistry is unreal, I melt when I see them together on screen. I was heartbroken when they turned Danny into a douche towards the end. I still think that in tv land they are happily married with a few more kids :D This video is so great. He was always a douche... good-hearted, likeable, just really afraid of secure attachment to someone else. It’s very well set up all throughout the show that, in spite of how great he is, Danny is a hard person to love. And that’s okay. It’s how life is sometimes. He turns into a different sort of person, but he’s always got that same core. And so does Mindy. That’s what makes it work.

I loved seeing him evolve in time thanks to Mindy, he slowly opened up and you could see that behind the jerky persona there was a really nice, protective man, it's just that he had been through so much in life, he was simply putting up a wall. They're a great couple, she makes him lighter and he makes her a bit more serious about life in general, they balance each other well. I think that out of all the tv shows I've watched this has been my favorite relationship because of how imperfectly perfect it was.

Me and my sister just recently binged the whole show and it just made me realise how much I adored this couple and the Mindy Project as a whole. It deserved so many more seasons and at the very least, it deserved a longer 6th season. I mean 10 episodes, what a crock.😒 All that to say thank you for this, it was a stunning montage of their best moments and I really adored and miss this perfect blend of authenticity, comedy, diversity and drama.😍

I didn’t think it was toxic. I think he was set in his ways and he had been hurt a lot and he tried to control everything and make it his version of perfect and he didn’t trust her as much as he should have. That’s what made him a jerk. But it was also an opportunity for her to stand up for herself and not leap into marriage for the sake of it. It was painful to watch as they fell apart.

NatashaNicole i dont know if i think hes out of character or if we just saw a different side of him. i hated danny after Leo was born, the way he treated mindy was hella mean and broke my love for his character. they shouldve shown dannys love for mindy more - i think they wouldve broken up soon after the dinner with his family if she didnt get pregnant. even in the end we rarely see danny. he married someone else completely, the only hint that he still loved her was when he called her before he got married and told morgan he cant do it. it pissed me off when they got back together and he was already complaining - true he was willing to adjust for her but how do we know it wasnt for Leo.

I think they were giving us a lot of data about him throughout the series before the romantic storyline---namely that he had controlling tendencies, a LOT of opinions about what women should and shouldn't do, and many other things. I agree they made it terribly bad after Leo was born, to the point of edging into emotional abuse territory. I've heard they intentionally sabotaged his storyline in Season 4 because the actor wanted to leave the series to pursue film acting and then tried to clean it up later when they decided to have a reunion at the end of the series.

I love The Mindy Project, binged it several times. And I love Danny and Mindy, they're si different, the argue, Danny is wrong and terrible a lot of times but he changes. Wow, lots of posts about Danny being controlling etc. Yes, he was and will probably always have those tendencies but that's why Mindy is perfect for him. Remember, she isn't perfect either but what they are is perfect for each other. They both have issues but in tv land somewhere they are still together bickering, working on those issues together, having had another kid together, making it work from day to day like most real life couples. And will keep doing that for the next 50yrs. 🥰

The creators always find a way to turn some of the great characters into complete weirdos by the end. For instance, Andy Bernard from The Office and here, Danny Castellano. Maybe Leo was the beginning of the doom of their relationship but Danny was the main culprit. Also, Chris stepping away from the show could be a big reason for Danny’s character arc going downhill. By the end, them getting together felt a tad bit forced. Nonetheless as a fan of this couple, I was happy with an ending like that.

As much as I want to love these two, I can’t. You can’t just forgive and forget abuse. I hate what they did to his character and tried to act like none of it happened. I loved them so much at first but then he became controlling and manipulative. It’s unforgivable no matter what. I hate that Mindy and Danny ended up together after all of that. Well, at least I can fantasize about seasons 1-3 Mindy and Danny.

I absolutely loved them together : their banger and chemistry, their story and how they slowly fell for each other. Up until s4 when Danny suddenly became this big asshole. By the end I just wanted her to end up with Ben, he was perfect and again they ruined this perfect ship (with such a lame and unbelievable excuse) just for Mindy to end up with Danny when it wasn't even sure he changed his ways.

Which sadly is what the show consistently did to all of Mindy's major love interests in order to write them off the show starting with Josh. But the biggest 'betrayal'! was the horrific writing they did to the character of Danny to validate Mindy finishing it because they had to make her be the victim. Which is what one of the producers said in that were the fans on her side. And they did it in such a way that there was no coming back from it for many. I love Danny and don't really consider the Danny that return from looking after his dad and trying to forcingly impregnate Mindy to not be the real dad because while in no way was Danny the perfect person, the way he was written before Chris decided to leave show, for me there is NO WAY that Danny would act in the despicable way. It's such a shame that the writers who brought about this amazing and interesting couple should end up damaging them so badly.

I have my favorite though, I believe what makes the mindy character so endearing is this , she has it all !! I'm a Chubby girl who loves to eat.... It was hilarious whenever Mindy give excuses to eat and not exercise. That's totally me. I'm the lucky one, I found my *Danny*, we have all these small fights (make fun of me being fat) everyday and we have 2 beautiful kids......we have our ups and downs and we wanted to give up so so so so many times..... there is a bit of their history in it. and that look he has on mindy. It's obvious that he has feelings for her. I got chills from the plane scene when he grabbed his face. it's not comedy. when he disappears from the series we feel that they also needed this break in their lives. the same when he comes back and she tells him that she never stopped loving him, it smells of experience. it shows that this relationship in this series has surely lost them in real life. it was palpable this love between the two. they love each other like crazy but the world of cinema is cruel. it's hard to keep your man in this environment. he is ambitious and so is she.
