It is such a small weird world. When Danny mentions he was staying g at Muska’s while Chad was in NY, I was in NY and I was riding my bike through SoHo and I passed this other dude on a bike and I realized it was Muska so I circled back and introduced myself. He saw that I had a Space Needle sticker on my bike and asked me about Seattle and if I knew Danny and Wei. We spent the next like 20 minutes talking about growing up with Danny and how cool he was etc etc. Love this episode! So much of my childhood goes back to this guy and how he influenced my skating. Can’t even begin to know what my life would be like without his influence even though like he said, he was “difficult to work with” back then. Love this guy! #dannyisthedopest

I discovered skateboarding as a little kid, never knew the culture or the possibilities until I saw an older kid named Tom ollie over the place. The only thing I knew about pro skaters back in the day was from the mags and the rare video I was able to get my hands on. I must've watched Photosynthesis 3 times a day for years. Thank God for the nine club and others like it who are giving these guys their flowers and due respect for what they were able to do before social media.

What happened after Underworld Element was Clout. He had a part in "All Soul, No Payroll" that had this song where there were two main samples: one that said "she's ugly," and another that was a horn line. My friends and I watched it a bunch and adopted the practice of singing the horn line to each other when we saw someone we wanted to note as ugly but didn't want them to know what we meant.

@@Scarecrow-skate-racing-videos At one time the owner of Beachfront Skate/Bike Shop built a nice 6ft mini-ramp. Then I helped build a 4 foot mini another summer. It pretty much was were the Walmart is. We wanted to skate so bad, we'd take the bus from Menasha just to ride. It was covered by diagonal 1/4" luan plywood. Shout out to Steve Pratt. I first heard Nirvana in 1990, like a year before they blew up, because some random Seattle skate video my buddy had had Love Buzz in it. We were both like “whoa…. WTF is this? And skipped to the credits to find out. Then like a year later I got up for school, turned on MTV, and sat down with my bowl of cereal just in time to catch what to me was the debut of Smells Like Teen Spirit and I’m like “GTFOH Nirvana’s on MTV??? Holy shit!!!” This was in like 91 when it was unheard of for an underground band to make it to MTV outside of “120 Minutes” which was late at night. Anyways, to get to my point, are you sure they just didn’t wanna use Love Buzz because it was already used in a skate video? I mean, you’re from Seattle so you had to have known it was used in that random Seattle skate video.
