Yeah, it was made for the era of streaming, not conventional TV. Even in 2011 when I became a fan everyone knew it, because it was doing amazing on streaming even then. Everything from the complex in-jokes and experimental episodes made the show perfect for streaming and binging and terrible for conventional TV.

My take is he's definitely confirmed but they're holding off on saying so, so they can save the hype for closer to the release date. Community doesn’t just brighten up my day, it was major for me. It showed me major tv shows don’t have to follow such rigid guidelines. It inspired me to do what I love. Without community I wouldn’t have learned so many things about me exist in other people. Delta cubes will never die.

Community has struggled because of its reliance on mass media consumption. the amount of references, homages, and name-drops make it hard to access for someone who only casually consumes media. It plays with tv tropes and character tropes in such interesting ways, that those who have lots of reference material enjoy it greatly, where the average consumer would just find it too inaccessible and confusing. Its a special, unique show that becomes better the more shows you have seen.

I don’t understand most of the references but it’s still enjoyable since they add the shows own charm onto it as-well, so you don’t need to watch what they reference to get enjoyment out of it. That’s why the show is so good.

To a degree you're right. But what makes Community great is the characters and the way its written. Paintball, timelines, d&d and "homages" would mean nothing if the core characteristics of the show werent fantastic. Now, I know the vast majority of the pop culture references in Community but I had never heard of My Dinner with Andre before Community and I loved that episode.

I don't think that will be the case. Dan Harmon is an absolute perfectionist. He's probably been working on the script for the film for years and years and tearing it to shreds looking for issues. He still has a similar voice in shows like Rick and Morty so I don't think he would've lost that. And during the pandemic when they had a read through, all the actors slipped seemlessly back into their characters.

Community was so great, and the sad part is even with how tame it could be a lot of it wouldn’t be allowed to happen today. That’s sad to me. They really need Troy in the movie for it to work, they somehow survived Donald Glover leaving the show and kept Abed’s character relevant, it seemed an impossible task but it was still a job well done, considering. Losing Glover was kind of the nail in the coffin for the show, it survived a couple new seasons but it wasn’t quite the same (yet still funny). We could deal with losing Shirley and Pierce, but Troy was the hardest because him and Abed were almost one character. I still wish that Chevy would have been easier to work with because I actually loved Pierce as a character, but I understand sometimes egos clash really bad, and I think Joel confirmed that Chevy will not be in the movie. I hope Duncan, Chang, and even Professor Hickey at least make an appearance. Allison Brie is still super hot (I had such a crush on Annie Back in the day), and even though in the beginning she was like 26 or 27 playing a believable 19 year old, she’s obviously going to have to grow up. I wonder if they’ll make her character older and more confident where she embraces her sexuality and dresses super hot? There’s a lot of opportunities for it to be memorable, I just hope they don’t ruin it. Some things are revived and ruined compared to before it was cancelled. I still say I’m the biggest Arrested Development fan in the world, as I watched it since it’s pilot on Fox, and every Sunday after. I had the DVD box sets of the original three seasons and worshipped them (it was too ahead of it’s time, so many of the jokes built on themselves from past episodes so it really needed to be binged in order, not just watching an episode at random like people did at the time)! When I heard Netflix was reviving it and they eventually released season 4, I was ECSTATIC to say the least! When I actually started watching I was extremely underwhelmed to put it lightly.
