It's crazy to realize that within the canon of Mexican-American history, two major flashpoints of our history began in San Jose, California beginning with the establishment of the Farm Workers Movement of which Cesar Chavez himself hails from San Jose, California. Followed by the beginning of the now long-standing Norteño vs Sureño conflict derived from an incarcerated Mexican-American Prisoner from San Jose who unjustly died in defense of his property that was taken from him of which then established the full-on taxation of both of these Northern-Southern gangs. I often wonder if I will ever see peace being made within my lifetime. I surely hope so because the future truly belongs to us if we can pursue resolution.
