Lol, was actually a very good handling wee car for what it was.

The Jazz is the best second car you can ever have. Can leave it on the street, take it up dirt rounds and basically abuse it without a care in the world. You can then flip the seats any which way depending on what you're loading in the back. It'll never handle like a double wishbone Honda, but it'll surprise a few people as you take the toog back roads home. Not sure I'd ever k swap one though. Good review, A++

One of the reSons for the inherent chassis stiffness is the floor is double skinned to hold the fuel tank under the drivers seat and built for a low floor, there are chassis stiffeners available that can increase the already stiff chassis. Mine runs a standard motor and chassis but has lowering springs and is fully probushed, it is unbeatable at motorkhana blows minis to the weeds. It handles very well for its price,
@harveywhite3001 Жыл бұрын
Hows the handling after lowering springs??

@@harveywhite3001 the handling is vastly improved with the progressive rate lowered springs and Koni red shock absorbers. Of course good tyres, lightweight wheels and good alignment all add to the mix.

Problem with a lowered Fit, is that camber changes from negative to positive when you have deep suspension travel. There are some fixes for this, but overall Fits handle best at stock ride height. The same is true for RSX and EP3 - simply slamming it absolutely ruins the handling.

My ex had a bone stock 07 fit and it could handle corners pretty good, but that hunk of steel in the back just makes the back end really unpredictable. It needs a way to change the camber your wheels just skip all over the place.

Hey Danny.🖐 Finally making it back for a quick comment. Yes sir, it's always a good time when you get up with the lads at HCR. I hope there's more where that came from. Solid review, Dan. I'd say with triple the power from standard, most reviewers would be over the top about how great everything is. This one seems very pure and unfiltered as we've come to expect from you. Sure, it's a quick car, coolest Jazz I've seen, and I think Pete has done a hell of a job for what it is, but I appreciate the honesty of your overall impressions of the car. The humour and great analogies you throw in along the way, well.👍😅 Good stuff, mate. I hope you get back to see Josh and Pete again soon. Have a good afternoon. Cheers, buddy.

I own a 2nd gen Fit. I will tell you the handling is fantastic. More bump steer in the rear than I'd like, but it mostly comes down to 2 things. The very stiff chassis, and weight. It's very light, and the gas tank is located under the front seats. The let off turn in is crazy. They tend to be tail happy. Which is what you want in a FWD

Whats it like to work on though? I have a same model FIT (what they are called in the us) its a manual and its really hard to find manual parts here because everyone who bought this car here when it was new was using it for a small grocery getter and not for a racing machine so they all got an auto. I have contemplated getting a k20 just for the fact that parts would be easier to find. But its also more difficult to work on than my eg because of the lack of space in the engine bay. I bet that problem would only be amplified with a larger engine. In my opinion a fit is a really good car for a daily driver. It still feels like a small sporty honda but nobody expects it to be hopped up or asks you to race or whatever so you can sort of blend in with the crowd.
