The switch from Notion to Obsidian can be daunting, especially when building a personalized system straight out of the gate 😆 Normally I would suggest moving slow and adding bits when you find the need 😁

The tasks plugin also has a line `short mode` to remove the link from where the tasks are from. Instead, it will show a link icon that links to the file the task is in. If you want to remove even more, you can add `hide backlink button` and optionally also `hide edit button`. My tip: I have a markdown file called "tasks". In it, I have the following tasks queries: - `not done due before today` - `not done due today` - `not done priority is high` - `not done due after today due before in one week` - `not done no due date priority is not high tag does not include cloud` Then I opened the file, and literally dragged it into the right sidebar, under my calendar, so that it split the sidebar in half. Then pinned the file. Now, if I open my right sidebar, I get my calendar and task list. It's amazing 😀

I like using quickadd to add the task in. However, unlike the task editor, if you specify "Wednesday" on the due date and today is "Thursday", then you will get yesterday as the due date. Task editor would know to do "next Wednesday". Just something to be aware of.

Nice video, gave me some great ideas. I did have a problem with your weekly dashboard dataview query. I dont know if I missed something or what but dateformat(file.day, "kkkk-'W'WW") did not work for me. I ended up using this, dateformat(date(file.name),"kkkk-'W'WW"), to make it work. Created time is automatically on every file. You don't need a created time field, if you want to search for it in a query, just look for ctime assuming you are using dataview.

That sounds like a metadata menu issue. It does require a restart when you first install the plugin 😁

May I ask for a question about the task query? The tasks plugin offers a function called scheduled date which is the date that I plan to do the task but not the deadline for it. I would like to use the task query to get all the tasks that are not done and also earlier than or on today, which I have figured it for a while. As the scheduled date function doesn’t works when the task is delayed to tomorrow as the today can only search for today(which is yesterday of the next day). I’ve tried some ways mentioned in posts like

If I understand correctly you want overdue tasks to appear in your task query. You can do 'on or before' date and it will pick them up. All 3 date options can be queried seporate. Hope that helps.

Not sure what you mean. A quick add will create a task. The task plugin has the statuses. If you put the same syntax in the quick add it will be read by the css snippet and task plugin. Eg: - [B] Would be in quick add read by tasks
