The way TPC Japan does the whole guaranteed pull rates per box thing, I'm surprised this isn't always a thing for every set in some fashion. They obviously have some kind of formula to work with to guarantee every box has x amount of these, x amount of those.

It’s not just the Ace Spec. There are ten box patterns, each with specific packs for the SAR, ACE Spec, and reverse holos. The fact that there are so few packs per box and many different hits just make the patterns really obvious.

they do actually. This is why opening Japanese is nice. This high class set really just went and said "you always get a SAR". Considering the number, and the fact that eevees are a thing, I think they wanted to be a crowd pleaser and not frustrate people.

It's gonna be a nightmare. Save up some money and go to a gamestop before they open on January 17th and just wait. If you don't live near a big city it'll be better but even in my small town of about 50k things are bad.

Also all pre orders at the game stops in my state are held for 48 hours after that they will be available to purchase, problem is the game stops I live by rarely get extra then what was preordered so the odd chance to find it is super slim. Been asking a few friends who work there and they are saying they are getting only the preorder amounts in for release which is crappy

they will reprint if needed. But watch danny's previous video on stores and preorders he explains. Pokemon company aren't dumb, they made this set, they know it will be popular. Theyve likely been printing prismatic evolutions for half a year now. Pokemon keep printing crown zenith and that set is over two years old. You don't need to FOMO. If you really enjoy the set, you can take your time. you don't HAVE to panic buy it before its even had its set list revealed, let alone on release day.

SAR pack 7 = Ace spec pack 8, seen it hundreds of times already. pokeball reverses are pack 2, 4, and 10 in those boxes as seen in box 1 here. 1 of the pokeball reverses COULD be a masterball.

have you got a beat on the odds of masterballs? I assumed that they would actually be the same as 151, but since booster boxes for high class are only 10 packs, it would need to be in every other box. I've not seen anyone open enough boxes yet. But I'd assume its still 1/20 packs. It wouldn't seem very nice to me to dilute it any further. I had a suspicion that they might have some mercy and make it a little more favorable at maybe 1/15, so essentially %66 chance to get a masterball in a box. Thanks for sharing your big brain knowledge.

I've seen multiple videos about the mappability. What if you can spot the ACE or the SR, can you still pull a god pack or not? Or if you can spot the ACE, could the SR "pack' be a god pack. If the god pack is really random than I don't see a major issue. But if it does than we might have a problem.

Love Japanese booster boxes because they don't have reverse holos; straight pack composition: 2 C, 2 UC + (1 R, 1 RR, 1 SR, 1 AR, 1 SAR, 1 UR). I wish we didn't have those in the English version; that could improve pull rates.

don't worry danny, reading japanese doesn't matter for the names of characters, they change most of them, maybe all of them? Often times for no reason. So even if you didn't remember his name is Brassius, the card in japanese says "korusa".

Hey Danny, I agree that it is unfortunate that this is the case. However as you proved with box 5 that even if someone uses this method to strip mine one SAR, the amount of hits that they leave in the rest of the packs is ridiculous. This system doesn't allow for the second SAR or SR, or the Golds, or the God packs or the Masterballs or even the remaining reverse holoballs. So if they want to keep opening boxes and leaving a few packs then they're idiots really. The rarity of the Masterballs could well push them higher in price over the SAR's. Stay safe mate.

in the first box of SAR pack 7 = Ace spec pack 8, the reverse pokeballs are always in pack 2, 4, and 10. Which is where there were in box 1 here. The masterball IF in the box, would be in one or those slots. Each different SAR/Ace spec configuration, the reverse pokeballs appear in the same location for that specific configuration. I have not seen specifically if the SR (if you get one), appears in the same spot for each box configruation. Or if a box contains a god pack, if the SAR/Ace specs appear in the same location. Some boxes contain 2 SARs, so that is another small difference. But for 97% of the boxes, most cards are mappable.

Speaking of suspicious people and dented boxes: We recently had a buyer back out of a purchase because we offered them a box with the best plastic. He suddenly decided he didn't want a booster box that he was ready to buy right that very minute. We were dumbfounded, and honestly couldn't do anything but laugh at the situation and the buyer (privately of course) Many of the smart plays only exist because of dumb players. people need to stop worrying about trying to chase everything. I think ignoring masterballs is fine. For 151 many people consider the masterballs a set aside to complete, and they look nice in their own binder anyhow. Enjoy what you get, and don't feel like you MUST keep up with everything. Pick and choose what you love! But if you love the masterball gimmick, go ham! I just don't like seeing people stress out over getting every expensive card variant in existence or else their set isn't a "real" or "true" masterset.
