Always worth trying the near bank I'm convinced that a fair few of the pike people think have followed a lure or grabbed a fish they've caught have actually swum out from the near bank

When I was fishing the Bridgey at Agden (where the collapse happened) in the 90s, I caught the pike right under my feet. I would some times put the float on the canal bank and watch it being dragged into the canal! Had them up to 25lbs!
