Not much to say about this one. Seems like Ping Pong, Techno, and Cascade are my go to guys everytime I get a "new" vintage computer and need to test it out. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Techno attempts to fill up the screen and then it becomes a war between techno and cascade in which techno is stopped by cascade creating walls of text to attempt to prevent techno from destroying cascades beautiful creation of flames of text but then techno resumes in its deadly path annihilating all of the walls of Amber text protecting the beautiful flames at the bottom but then cascade kicks it up a notch by locking in techno between two walls of Amber flames of text that keeps techno stopped for quite a while until the one H remaining at the top of the screen refuses to fall causing a hole to appear in the wall so techno can escape and be free from this sandwich of Amber flames of text so then techno gets to the bottom of the screen and destroys the precious flames of text that were kept safe for quite a while by cascade, and then the text is taken over by techno which makes a massive techno box appear and then cascade gives up and goes away.

It's curiously blurry though, isn't it... Generally you expect monochrome screens to be fairly sharp in the horizontal dimension (obvs you can't do much to improve CGA's 200-line vertical rez), because they don't have any dotmasks dividing the surface up into discrete pixels, but this one looks like it might be even less distinct than a typical colour screen. ...um... you _clod._

OK, I'm going to be *that guy:* these are all nice little display hacks and/or stress relievers/timewasters that a bored or frustrated office worker might occasionally run _by choice_ on their computer, much like the "eyes", "graffiti", "shoot the screen" or desktop pet utilities of GUI based machines, but... where are the *viruses?* All of these you had to deliberately load in by typing their name and most of them look like they were hacked together in GWBASIC over the course of half an hour. The William Tell one even prints the actual BASIC music command lines to the screen as it goes. Maybe you might even manually sneak one onto a coworker's machine by copying it to their system disc then putting a non-echoed load command into their Autoexec.bat (if their machine even _had_ one - the sudden running of which when it didn't have one before being a dead giveaway), but that would still be an entirely non-destructive joke or prank and not something that would happen automatically. Virii spread autonomously from disc to disc, either worming their way into a disc's bootsector (where they can cause havoc simply by just being there, though the trick is to replace it silently and without disrupting its core functionality even whilst injecting your own extra code), or attaching themselves to programs that you're deliberately running already. With no way to avoid running them without using a virus cleaner once they're resident in your computer's memory or on your main boot disc / attached to a program you run all the time. Usually with destructive side effects (intentional or accidental), or at least causing far more annoyance than amusement... e.g. the old Siren, Slow, Melt and Cookie Monster examples, which would variously play a loud police siren noise from the speaker at random, cause your system to gradually and inexorably slow down until it eventually halted completely, cause the image on-screen (more effective with graphic displays of course) to gradually distort and "drip" downwards, or occasionally and randomly halt everything with a pop up prompt demanding "give me a cookie" and not relinquishing control until you typed COOKIE ... and this is before we even get on to Michaelangelo, Worm, and all the original old school data-trashing viruses that didn't even do anything irritating but tolerable like that, but simply shat all over your floppies and hard drives and whatever happened to already be stored on them). Yes, it's pedantic, but, seriously, get the terminology right before anyone less experienced starts copying you. They're fun "toys", widgets, or even "pranks", but they're not viruses.
