DAN, I love the idea of making content with other creators. These videos are the most fun to watch because they seem like the most fun to make. Pokemon Draft League is some of my favorite content on youtube, and I've wondered why nobody has tried the format in GBL. A friendly but competitive league to really make the game enjoyable again. I personally would watch every second of that

Man, I'm really sad about this video. I just started playing again 3 months ago and I really love GBL its very dishearting to see such sad videos (on EXTREMELY fair issues) because I've been having a blast playing again. I hope you'll find the motivation on playing again because I really love your videos and have learned alot. I also hope you have a blast in whatever you do decide to do

I came for GBL to this channel - but I stayed because of your personality. I think I could enjoy it just as much if your content changed. I really relate to the part about being addicted to your phone. That is a problem for me as well and it should be addressed. Thank you for all the laughs and lessons in 2024 - and happy new year to you.

I subscribed to your channel this year and you’re the reason I started getting into GBL, but I can totally understand where you are coming from. Also as a french canadian I would say a trick to get started learning french without having to completely rearrange your schedule for it is incorporating it in the stuff you already do / understand. For example when watching your favorite movie watch it in french instead, or set the language of your pokemon games to french, watch french youtubers, etc

Just some observations. I think providing context as to your own situation provides your audience more relatability. It is different being a family, two young children, mortgage, etc. people will also draw inspiration and motivating about you and your success as well as leaning from your past actions. This is a huge growth opportunity for yourself as well. You’ll have a great repository of what these years have been like with these end of year wrap up’s. do it for yourself. So elephant in the room. Lean French. Set it as your goal for 2025. I hear a strong goal on health as well as a new channel but really nothing about leaning French. You are good at the analysis and use that strength. If you aren’t exercising, then start the language. Maybe link the French with Pokémon? Learn via explaining the basic strategy in French. In fact maybe start a French channel in the future. I really enjoy your channel and look forward to all your future uploads. Even if I can’t watch it right away. 2 videos a day is a lot, reduce to 1 a day, but your new channel may take over that time.

If your not into whatever it is your doing, the results will suffer. Im ready for 2024 to be over, so heres hoping the new year is successful for you and everyone else. Im happy to stay a member of the channel for as long you keep it going. Im even interested to see what you with the economics channel. I have a strong work ethic, but I suck with finances. More of a mechanical focus than analytical, so maybe that will help. Still love what you do and mental and physical health increase in the path you take!

"Monolingual monkey" is the phrase you were looking for at 6:55 Also Bowflex dumbbells were a lifesaver when I was working out at home. They adjust from 5lbs to 55lbs. But these days I spend a lot of my exercise time in hotel gyms and calisthenic parks when I travel for work. Life just gets busy, one video per day is still a lot

Hi! I admit that I found your channel from googling for gbl teams. I am a 2016 player but I only wade into pvp occasionally. Thanks for all your work and sacrifice to educate us. I don’t know if the data of player demographics is available, but I would speculate that, as older players drop off, newer players are joining. That might be the reason we have the same stale content over and over. Good luck with your goals, and spend time with your kids as much as you can--they grow up so fast!

I’m seriously considering quitting GBL. As I’ve gotten better at PvP, I’ve become a lot better at recognizing when the game doesn’t work and in the last week, all I can see are the one turn lag events that have absolutely made a difference in game play and cost me matches.

time stamp 31:10 : I am also a finance graduate. I know its a bit selfish on my side, but that idea of a finance/economics channel would be so nice. I currently work as a cash receipt analyst, overseeing payments for the company I work at, but especially here in South Florida, that market is competitive, so having insight with someone with experience would be appreciated (i am only 23 so im basically new in this field)

I've commented on lots of your vids re how I more or less gave up on PoGo last summer. I picked up LastWar and after seeing how that game is supported by it's developers and how responsive the devs are and how much they actually care about the game and the players... That was the last straw for me with PoGo. I didn't realize how terrible Niantic was until then (I don't play many mobile games really). So I get the desire to give up on PoGo and move on. I still play weekly just a quick log on to see what's happening and if anything is out I REALLY would like to pick up. I've pretty totally quit GBL. I've not hit lvl 20 in the last two season because I've played so little. Best of luck with your endevors and family and life. I'll keep an eye on your content just because I enjoy your perspective on some things.

I like your ideas. Especially getting other content creators involved in a cast. What I haven't seen anyone do is involving the subscribers directly. I'd love to see content where you, or other creators, battle them while streaming. It would create more involvement from us watching all your videos every day. I'm a mediocre player in all aspects, and while learning loads from you and orhers, It'd be fun to see something different than just top of the pop showing off 😂 Best of luck for the new year for you and your family ❤.

In regards to you working a lot and needed to find time to exercise or learn French. I work 10 to 12 hour days and have almost no free time after work, picking up kids, cooking dinner, then bath time, and bed time. So something I do is workout during work or during work breaks and I'm currently learning guitar so I play it in my truck during breaks. Two fifteen minute breaks and a thirty minute lunch every day adds up. Also if you want a good workout regiment for those with little time, I've trained a few people and have generally been in pretty good shape if you want any tips.

I really liked calisthenics, it’s something you can for the most part do entirely at home and doesn’t require you to go to the gym or pay for any subscription. And you gain functional strength, as well as increased flexibility. Something to consider!

Congratulations on your successful family and career. If you are not happy with the direction of Pokemon Go, I am sure there are many other hobbies you can cover and be obsessive about. I used to volunteer to run games for Collectible Miniature Games and spent 10 years helping run conventions and a social club. A lesson I learned was that I was only going to work so hard to make someone else's product successful. When it stopped being fun, I stopped doing it. I have appreciated your GBL input. But, as you said, the game is so glitchy as to be unworthy of serious effort. I like grinding the GBL for the dust and other rewards in the Timed Research if I get 2 wins per set, 10 wins a day is reasonable and it leaves room for days off. Once I get my 500 wins, my play slows down. If you get out there and meet more players, PoGo can be a lot more fun. I have enjoyed the new challenge of Dynamax/Gigantamax as a slow play. Those big events were fun reminders of the old in person raid trains before the remote raids took over.

This video definitely gives some much needed perspective for me. I haven't been the biggest fan of your videos (I watch them simply because they're informative) because of your complaining and generally negative attitude. Now, that makes a lot of sense. Your main hobby became a source of income out of necessity, along with the game just kinda sucking. You're stressed from being a single income household, and you haven't been exercising as much as you like. As someone in their mid 30s with a wife, 3 kids, a mortgage, and 2 car payments; I get man. I'm generally an overwhelmed butthole too, haha.

We actually had 2 legendaries last year if you include the elite raids we Enamorus and necrozma but still 6 months between new content is making the game really stale between that and the glitches in gbl and no new cups. The rebalancing of moves was the best thing they did in 3 years in the game

As an aside, I would appreciate your economic take on Pokemon Go as a game. As they continue to roll out tickets and egg hatch events what do you forecast that doing to the player base? And, I would be curious to see how this greater monetization benefits the game as they focus on the players who are willing to spend money on the game. I had a theory that Niantic might be trying to weed out some of the casual free to play players to save server resources, but I have no data or way to test that theory. And yeah, we all need to learn to put our phones down.

To be honest… Talking as a Father of 2 with 2 full Time Jobs… one must always look forward into what will be am not live so much in the moment! A better future is right there for Dan one that could open many doors a long the way! I’ll say this game is just that a game… as adults we play games to take off the edge of responsibility and pressure of been a responsible adult… something that Kids Don’t Know Until The Bus Leaves The Station without them! This Game is on his last leg for the 3er time! Don’t know how Niantic as a company wants to bring this game back to life or in the Pokémon Comp cares about it… I had been playing Final Fantasy 6 this couple of weeks! Lol good times!

Pocket is a great game. Being a new game it has no flaws in it. Even if you are a free to play player it's a healthy game to have cards to build a lot of good decks. I have played GO everyday for years, Once Pocket came out I haven't opened the game once. I feel the same as you that GO has just slowly been on the decline and there is no improvement in the near future. It would be cool if you did a Pocket series.
