끝날 것만 같던 계절도 다시금 돌아온다. 완성할 수 없다고 생각하는 감정도, 사실은
완성일 수도 혹은 제자리에서 답 내려주길 기다리는 것일지도 모른다. 아직은 어리숙한
재희와 정우, 둘의 짧았던 여름을 통해 우리는 놓칠 수밖에 없었던 서로의 이야기에
대하여 생각해볼 수 있다.

‘Unfinished’ (or sometimes translated as “Incomplete’) is the theme or central idea of this 2019 33 minute Korean short. We see it at once in the image of the circle drawn in the sand by Jungwoo (Kim Ming San), then immediately washed partly or wholly away by the sea, and it is shown to us by editing the story into incomplete segments, each one a clue or partial revelation of the whole. The feelings Jungwoo has for his school friend Jae hee (Ji Soo) are never openly discussed in this beguiling story of teenage longing amid disapproving eyes. But they are as intense as the summer heat that Jae Hee complains of, and which Jungwoo plans to escape from by an overnight trip to the seaside. Jungwoo’s brave declaration of feeling is repulsed by Jae Hee’s belligerent response, which in turn prompts a public outburst of hurt by Jungwoo. Ashamed of how he’s treated his friend, Jae Hee makes a muted apology, leaving Jungwoo to settle for less than he hoped. This film owes as much to its director (name not known) as to its fine young actors; the repeated white fadeouts create an impression of the summer haze, and when the most beautiful moments of image & music are in Jungwoo’s solo walk on the shore, we know between the two young lads where the director’s sympathies lie.

Am I the only one who thinks that this short film deserves a bigger spotlight? It shouldn't be a short film only.. It should be a big movie or series! Since the story is very relatable and it brings back old memories not only for us ,adults, but also for teenagers who face this kind of confusion nowadays and maybe because of society's judgment they keep their true feelings on their own.

So I'm gonna sum this story up. Jungwoo (tall guy) has a one sided crush on his best friend, Jaehui(short guy). I think that Jaehui is aware that Jungwoo might like him as more than a friend, but cares about their friendship too much to risk losing him. Jungwoo starts pressuring Jaehui to go to the beach with him on Jaehui's birthday, alone, something that couples often do. On Jaehui's birthday Jungwoo gives him a gift which includes a letter telling Jaehui that he likes him. That's why he said that he decided to make a decision. He probably didn't like Jaehui back, but at the same time didn't want to lose his best friend. So he decided to not decide, to not tell Jaehui anything, and just act like it didn't happen. You can see that there is a scene in which Jaehui tries to hold Jungwoo's hand, but Jungwoo slowly backs his hand away, and pretends that it didn't happen. Jaehui ignored Jungwoo one day when he was starting to feel pressured by Jungwoo. Jaehui probably had come to fully realize that Jungwoo liked him as more than a friend, and was struggling with how to deal with it. Some of the last and beginning scenes show Jaehui at the beach, presumably on Jungwoo's birthday as that was when they had planned to go together.while he was at the beach, Jungwoo was reflecting on everything that had happened, and how he was going to deal with probably losing his friend. I think that Jaehui showed up when Jungwoo was heading back, or he had been following Jungwoo the whole day, and Jungwoo ignored him all day. In the end, they both dont want to lose the other, so they just pretend or ignore that everything that had happened between them.

@@thea3229 when I wrote this, it was more of just so that I could understand what had tooken place, but then I realized I didnt know who was who, so I rewatched a couple times to try and figure it out, but still couldn't, so their names are a guess for me. This movie is so good, though I wish they ended up together, I'm happy they didn't. This way it's relatable to so many people. I myself can remember being in this position which Jungwoo is. Being in love with your best friend, but having to hide away your feelings in order to maintain the friendship, leaving that to be the only type of relationship we'll ever be in. Though Jungwoo is longing for Jaehui, it's obvious that jaehui don't feel the same way, or is scared to show it. This leads to a lot of confusion and inner hatred for someone you love. you want to tell them, you want to share your feelings, but you don't want to lose them. It's like you just want them to come forward first, though you know they won't. edit: it's been two years... idk where i got this from T-T I WANT THEM TOGETHER!!!! who tf cares about relating??!

In these movies, I want happy endings..I want dreams and desires coming true. I dont want unrequited love...I want to see at least someone happy..even when I know it's just a movie with reel couples.

This is just reminding me of myself... when I was 17 years old, I loved someone so hard till the point that I couldn't even control my emotions, and this person was *my bestfriend*, she was my everything, I did everything to impress her...I was staying awake so late just searching for sth that she could love,...I was sharing stories about the birth of our universe, explaining theories, teaching her Japanese, and drawing her face...I could stay for hours with her talking with no hell stop. I knew since the begining that our feelings are not the same but she gave me some kind of false hope, and I enjoyed it even if I was sure that was not true. I loved to make her laugh and happy and I felt like no one could ever do the same to her. By the time my feelings were growing bigger and that tortured me as hell, so I had no option but to draw some distance between us which was even worst, at that time I could pass by her and toturing myself to not look at her...In my 18 birthday, she sent me *"I don't know what I did wrong but I wanna just say happy birthday to you"* and I answered *"I love you"* ...I waited 5 minutes to get a response she said *"me too"* ...My world did crawl at that time, I just started crying cuz I knew that she didn't mean the same thing as me, I said *"Don't worry, I just had some problems and I couldn't tell you before"* . I choose to stay with her even if it's not what I want, I choose to make her laugh and happy again, knowing for sure that would be someday where she won't need me again. And this day came when she met him, I couldn't even compare the way she felt with him and with me, sometimes she just came to me crying cuz her bf loves making her suffer, NO MATTER how many comforting words I would say to her she will say *"But I love him"* ..Can you imagine the damage that I felt at that time? Two years ago now, we choose different paths she still with her beloved boyfriend even if he is making suffer all the time, and I still open my arms to her every time she feels down. Same laugh, same smile... But a torn heart behind.

Should have had a trigger warning in the beginning haha I almost broke my laptop watching this besides that,, what a great short film seriously the acting, the camera work the freaking story dude I almost cried I’m so sad that they didn’t end up together but at the same time I’m happy and i understand that they not. Like someone said before me this way it’s way more relatable to way more people. That whole letting things be incomplete to contain something like a friendship is so deep and sad and beautiful i love it. The title incomplete is just so perfect and u know what i know thats like super random and kind of personal but while I’m writing this I thought i may get my first tattoo saying exactly this. It's officially one of my faves now! Waaaa this is beautifully produced and the actors did a great job at their roles... their relationship is so beautiful yet sad cause they can't be fully honest of their feelings... But i know time will come that Jaehui will have the courage to face his fear and take the risk. It's okay to take their time.. what's important is that theyre still together. 😭💖 Somehow this film also reminds me of Doukyusei's way of story telling. Both films are beautiful btw, a must watch!

Don't tell me; men can be just as complicated as women are....best friends, one of whom wants more than just friendship, the other scared of ruining the friendship they have....and opposites DO attract: one tall and handsome, the other terminally cute. And each does have strong feelings for the other... Finally, they choose not to separate and remain friends rather than take a chance and destroy their relationship. I have a hopeful feeling that another short film with these two...and the same GREAT director who lets them sort through their feelings again....will crop up. Thanks for adding the English Subs....this is my second watch of this fine short film.

너무 재밌게 잘 봤습니다. 배우분들 마스크랑 연기도 좋고 색감이랑 촬영도 너무 좋아요. 근데 나레이션이 너무 직접적으로 해설 해주는 후반부는 조금.. 음 직접적인 나레이션 말고 서사적으로 보여주는 것도 괜찮을 것 같단 생각을 했습니당. 좋은 영상 감사합니다.

I wish I could have seen what he wrote. He smiled at first when he read it then like freaked out. The smile betrays you little guy. You do like him but he's right you weren't ready. Clearly they are happiest together. His sad face at the bus stop when he came back from the sea and stomped off. Like he's so sad looking thinking he hates him and his bestie is gone forever. He left for what 2 days and you missed him? I dunno if they will end up together but in my head I'm gonna pretend that it takes a few more months and then he gains more confidence and approaches his tall love and gives him a big old kiss. Lord knows it's gonna have to be the small one cause the big one already tried a couple times and got rejected so he's gonna just sit and wait.

Man why they don’t produce storylines and actors like these??? 😢 no offense to the current attempt of KR for BLs but there were only few that met my expectation up to this point (Where your eyes linger is my top so far) especially that they have bigger budget for production?? There are lots of KR BLs that I tried watching but stopped in between, i lost interests easily. But look at this shortfilm, tbh it exceeded most of them for me. The KR BLs rn now is too direct for the kissing parts and lovey dovey parts, they lacked in depth stories, and I couldn’t connect to the actors that much, i couldn’t feel the emotions I wanted to feel or the scenarios supposed to make me feel. They just choose pretty boys with social status irl like they were just using the hype as a stepping stone into fame or acting.

The tall guy is absolutely gorgeous. The shorty very cute. Didn't get a word of what they were saying but I an guess the at the end they both got together. I love Korean BL stories, but please is it possible to also had ENGSUBS. Well my critic is..... Absolutely beautifully made with a happy ending. out of 10, I'll will say 101% AWESOME !!! Very good piece of work here. Would love to see how the friends/relationship develops between the two guys

This was so good. A little mysterious. Did Jaehui really like him in return but just too scared? Sometimes I felt yes, sometimes I though he was just friends. In college, two girls on my dorm floor were crazy best friends, so close. Inseparable. Then one came out to the other girl, and just like that it was over, the other girl hated her. It was horrible to watch.

This reminded me a friend of mine. An old friend. We have known each other for 7 years. And he has been in love with me for 7 years. When he first told me about his feelings 6 years ago, I told him that I saw him as my friend, which is true. He said okay and we remained friends. A few years later, history repeated and the same conversation passed between us. We decided to stay friends again. And lastly a few months ago ... This was when I realized some painful things. I was selfish. Although I knew he loved me, I kept him with me because he was a very good friend to me. I was happy. Because it was he who always listened to my problems, gave me advices. But i wasn't a good friend to him... If we go back to his third and last confession; we couldn't make it this time. We couldn't stay friends again. He was tired of waiting and I wanted to give him back the life he had been missing while taking care of me. Taking him out of my life was maybe the last thing I wanted to do in the world. But i had to do it for him. “Should i have just kept my selfishness forever?” I still think that sometimes. Cause i miss him so much. He was my best friend. I wish i could see you as the same way you see me. I really wish that. And i am sorry for all my childish behaviours. You were good to me. Thank you for making my life better for the past 7 years. Thank you for the memories. I’ll keep them in my heart.

The tall one developed feelings for his friend whom he felt reciprocated his feelings but sensed that the shorter one would pull back completely if he dared to mention the “elephant in the room”, yep the shorter one pulled back when he saw where things where going, and the tall one decided to remain by his friends side as only a friend never completing that last puzzle piece of their feelings towards each other.
