I bought this meter after my Fluke meter was stolen. I was and still am impressed by this meter. It simply works & works well. The "creature comfort" parts are a nice plus. I've been using the meter for a little over 6 months and it is still exceeds my expectations

Finally some one put a little more thought into making a better Metter, almost like you said idiot proof with the lighted lead sockets hay we've all made mistakes before this just helps prevent them. I think I am ordering one. Thanks Dan 👍👍

That's a nice meter with some awesome function like temp and so on but maybe the Fluke salesmen got to me 20 years ago with the overload and exploding meter video when testing voltage above the category level by error I still like my fluke but awesome video and something I would gift for sure.🥰

I bought this to replace a Fluke meter and am extremely pleased with the purchase. I lucked out and picked it up from the Amazon Prime sales. Great value

Absolutely. I think this is a great meter. It’s no Fluke, but it’s a great meter!

I just got one of these. Was planning on getting another K, but saw some of the positive reviews on the kaiweets ht118e, so picked one up. I also got a case and a lovely pack of heavy duty alligator clips. As Dan pointed out in the video, lots of very nice features. It's auto ranging, easy battery change, There is two no burn ceramic fuses. Can check capacitors, resistors, diodes and so on. 20000 count t-rms. I bought mine in Canada via their website (two coupon codes) and it come in about 2 weeks. Amazing .. I'm loving mine.

I think the torch is a great idea. I've seen the illuminate ports before but the torch is so simple yet so useful. My $2k fluke doesn't have a torch.

Nice meter. It won't ever replace my fluke, but maybe for home use 🤔

I agree… this is my “extra” meter that lives in to go tool kit.

The big online place has the 118a on sale for a little over $20. Almost the same as this one. For the folks on a tight budget.

My question is this. Can you change the fuse if it blows? Is it easy! I would think yes to both.
@dansproshop Жыл бұрын
Yes you can. Same as any other meter. Just remove the outer jacket and back plate.

Another video review answers the question. Remove 4 screws. Two fuses can be easily removed and new ones installed without soldering. So very easy. The hardest thing will be removing and replacing the rubber bumper cover... whatever it is.

I've handled Fluke, Amprobe, and Lutron multimeters. The most used feature is continuity, followed by voltage. Power and the rest you'll only use if you're a technician by trade. Fluke had the nicest plastic, Amprobe a little more cushy, and Lutron the most common. Fluke had the most automatic menu and the most capabilities in measurements. Amprobe is packed with features but is not as intuitive as the Fluke. Lutron was even more manual than Amprobe. As expected by the price, Lutron's range of measurements is not as good as the Amprobe, but let's face it. Only a tradesman has to measure AC with a range of something else than 50-60 hz. Like in really big motors. But while a Lutron is sufficient, I'd still buy a Fluke if I could. But I can't so I bought its little brother Amprobe. The idea was: "Buy cheap you'll (most probably) buy twice." With Amprobe I have enough capabilities as a tradesman so anything I will throw at it it will manage to do properly. There was another idea: "The most expensive tool is the one you don't have but need."

I gotta say my first impression was how cheap this thing looks. BUT given how it's literally 1/10 of the price of a Fluke 87 V, can't really go wrong with that, specially if the work you do doesn't require you to have your meter calibrated yearly. And Fluke is a monopoly, so screw them!
