@bricaaron3978 typically, yes. Others such as American or smokeybrown roaches will inhabit attics and crawlspaces, but they are much more shy to human activity than German roaches. My partner and I moved from a heavily infested apartment building. The landlord was horrible and didn't take the issue seriously, but everyone in the building was complaining about it. We broke our lease legally because of the infestation. We tried our best to inspect everything while and during moving but we still brought some over 😭 luckily our new apartment management is actually sending pest control regularly, and I'm doing my part by keeping everything as clean as possible, putting pet food and water our at night. We have rats so I've sprayed the litter tray at the bottom and along the stand so if they crawl onto it they will die. I'm so livid and paranoid 😩 crackhead cleaning. Hopefully withing a few weeks they will be taken care of. Sometimes its really hard to prevent transfer, especially coming from a building as infested as we did. Should we be putting our toothbrushes and sponges up? Everything else is cleaned and swept DAILY, and we are only eating in one room at this point.

I'm obsessed with pest control videos right now. My bedroom has been a complete mess for years, due to a mix of sentimentality from my childhood, pressure of what my parents would say to me when cleaning, being busy and sheer laziness. This week i have a break from work and my parents are away so i formulated a plan for cleaning my room. A lot of it is now tidy but when i was vacuuming my carpet i noticed tiny little eggs that were white/cream coloured which is the colour of my carpet which is why i never noticed them before. I've also seen black, small round bugs around my window sill and I've found patches of my carpet that have been destroyed - I'm pretty sure i have a carpet beetle infestation but i think I've killed most of the adults already as my window sill was the second thing i cleaned and was extremely thorough with it. If I'd known how many eggs were in my carpet and very old clothes, i probably would've burned my room down years ago. Got sprays for it and I'm going to vacuum every day for the rest of the week to wipe them out before reapplying the spray

Nice . Chemical warfare! Its true I've seen people who grew up with it, and the roaches don't bother them. I had some poor kid who was crying because the kids in school would see roaches on him. One of my secrets dealing with infestations like this was I would do the spray first, making sure the product wasn't a repellant like Phantom. Once the spray was complete then I would use a flushing agent like CB-80 and force all the cockroaches to come out of their hiding spaces and through the areas I sprayed. It won't kill them all instantly but in 24-48 hours the problem is solved.

Yo, German Pest Control here! Nice video! It's interesting to see the differences in each countries tools and treatments tho. Over here, we rarely spray against (German) Cockroaches, as they're too adept at tip-toeing across it, we wouldn't get the wanted effect quickly enough. It's mainly used to create isolation barriers to entice the roaches to remain in the current location. Which is where our main treatment takes place: Toxic jelly-bait. They're microcapsulated, so that the roach does not die immediately from it. Instead, it get's enough time to share it with it's kin, once they congregate and vomit to share their food with each other. You'll get both, imago and nymphs with it, plus the dead roaches remain contaminated and since they're cannibalistic, will even take their kin into death with them long after they passed.

PC Tech here, great question. I'll answer based on the products I can see he is using. As licensed PC Techs we are responsible for adhering to the Directions for Use on the products Label. Remember: THE LABEL IS LAW and carries the full weight of law if applied or disposed of improperly. The product in the large can is PT 221L. A fantastic product and very effective against a large number of pests. On the label for this product there is no specific PPE requirement for use. Seeing how he is using this product mostly for cracks/crevices and spot treatments (I'm gonna pretend he didn't hose down the back of the refrigerator grate 😅) as well as using a straw for more precise applications and his knowledge of the product it's safe to omit certain PPE. But not all, see how he still has gloves on. Now, for the B&G, I'll use a common product that a lot of people use for both indoor and outdoor use. Talstar P: AS PER THE LABEL "All pesticide handlers (mixers, loaders and applicators) must wear long- sleeved shirt and long pants, socks, shoes and chemical-resistant gloves. After the product is diluted in accordance with label directions for use, and/or when mixing and loading using a closed spray tank transfer system (such as an in-line injector system), shirt, pants, socks, shoes and water- proof gloves are sufficient. In addition, all pesticide handlers must wear a respiratory protection device when working in a non-ventilated space. All pesticide handlers must wear protective eyewear when working in non-ven- tilated space." the label provides specific instances for the product for when, where and what PPE, if any, is necessary. All of the products we use as techs MUST be approved by the EPA as safe to use around children and animals if used as directed. So if talstar required a NIOSH approved mask or respirator during application than he would be not only in violation of federal law, but would likely be exposing himself to dangerous chemicals. TL:DR; The EPA and Dept. Of Agriculture provide us with specific instructions for the use of Insecticides that we must adhere to. While most products we use in living spaces are deemed safe to use even in hospitals, there is always a risk when applying Insecticides. Most products will not seriously injure children, pets or adults if exposure is minimal. But they certainly can leave rashes, minor chemical burns, itchy skin, etc. ALWAYS REMEMBER, THE LABEL IS LAW. PERIOD.

My first gf had the worst roach infestation ive ever seen. She had to keep all her hygiene items in a sealed bag outside and clear the roaches from the bathroom and disinfect the tub EVERY single time she wanted to shower. Alot of people hung out over their house it was insane flip the lights on and hundreds would scatter.

when I worked in residential HVAC.. every fall we would get "no-heat" calls and always hated when we had togo to certain buildings because the roaches were so thick if not careful they would go home in my clothes, in my tool bags.. sometimes we would leave our tools in our vans and walk back N forth each time to grab a few tools then take them back.. we wore coveralls and masks in some house that we would take off and stuff in plastic bags.. landlords did nothing.. many people didnt know they could call their landlord for treatments.. others were hoarders that were the reason for the issue in a whole building..

My concern is the roaches becoming immune to whatever chemicals they're introduced too, and that chemical becoming ineffective.

You did amazing job! I haven't see such infestation in my 12 yrs of work in pest control. I would surely repeat the treatment on 10th day when new generation hatch with attract&kill chemical+sticky feromene. These ones are rare where I live, luckily. Very nice video.

What people don't know is that those nasty things will get into your TV, audio equipment, and just about anything electrical and short it out. My husband and I went through a TV every three years before we caught on. Not to mention they are a fire hazard.

To let your home get that bad is trifling. I saw one roach and went straight to war. I didn't know that roaches still exist. I haven't seen one since the 70s until yesterday.

Hi Dan! Just came across your channel. My husband and I just moved into our apartment a couple months ago. The people before had a roach infestation. The exterminators kept spraying and trying there best to kill them. We move in. We think there is none but they show up. We do everything we can to keep things clean. It’s like nothing we do will work. Exterminators come out, we use homedefense bug bombs and so much more. What do we do and how many times do the exterminators have to come out? It’s just so stressful because they won’t go away.

Hello if you're in a multi-unit structure you may have to talk to Property Management to get adjacent units treated as cockroaches could be harboring in those units and living in the interior wall area so every time you treat they will come back eventually so that would be a good recommendation to see if other units are having issues and to get those treated so that they're less areas for them to hide.

Agreed

Yeah just keep everything as clean as possible and preventative sprays. Check behind refrigerator to make sure there’s none back there

I think they are coming from the neighbors. If they are and they aren’t doing anything to keep things clean, what can I do? 🙃 thank you so much for responding
@butty412 жыл бұрын
@@RyanJessUlrich that can definitely be a little tougher to get control of. If you're going to use a pest control company I would suggest having them Dust In The Wall where your neighbors are through the light switch covers and outlet covers Etc which should be taken off and then dusted around there. Possibly sealing any cracks and crevices near the neighbor side and your wall Etc might reduce their ability to travel into your unit. Otherwise it may take a while with some regular preventative treatments such as sprays and baiting. Make sure to use a growth regulator in the spray or there are also growth regulator products such as general point source which are little stations you leave out and they help to control cockroach breeding by interfering with their hormones which stops them breeding over long period of time. Without having much detail I would imagine that it may take a good period to get them under control possibly a couple months of keeping the treatments up and preventative baiting and removing any food and crumbs Etc on the floor that would attract them so make sure to keep the kitchen very clean before doing treatments and to not wash away the treatment. Normally though if it is an apartment complex they have some requirement of keeping your apartment in good standing order which can include pest so I would definitely let Property Management know and have them inspect Because they may be breaking their lease if the neighboring unit does have cockroaches and is not doing anything to prevent it.

I live with my girlfriend at her mom's house. Their infestation inside got so bad, we ended up setting up a tent and live outside instead! Outdoor kitchen setup and all. And we get no roaches. outside. Her mom even had one burrow into her toe... wtf 🤢The family inside DOESN'T CARE, like you said. It is very sad to watch.

I read some years ago that some people move out of their house the roaches were so bad the walls looked like it was moving. The fire dept. came in and dug a Trench and filled it with gasoline then set the house on fire the trench so the roaches wouldn't excape to the surrounding neighborhood🤔😈⛽😲🚒

I've had my house sprayed quarterly for 20 years, not because of roaches, spiders, or scorpions, I had the house sprayed for crickets. Why crickets you ask, because in my area if crickets get under the stucco the woodpeckers will peck at your stucco leaving huge gaping holes trying to eat the crickets. Also, scorpions like to eat crickets, so having the house sprayed regularly just keeps all the crawly critters at bay. We also have agri roaches in my area, but I've never seen a live one since we started scheduled spraying.

Oh hey, fellow exterminator here. I was in a place like this earlier this week! Followed up today and there were no longer roaches on the ceiling. There were bed bugs everywhere in that building too! I usually just use bait and some dust for roaches. I’m curious about the spray though, was it a fungal spore of some kind?
@dkhnova Жыл бұрын
Refrigerators provide everything roaches need. Warmth (from the motor), Food (spills and crumbs on the floor), and Water (because the cooling mechanism produces water, much like an air conditioner or dehumidifier). Spraying poison and putting down bait is good ... but equally important is cleaning. That house needs some work done with a mop and a bucket of Pine-Sol diluted with water. Or ammonia with water. ... (But don't ever mix cleaning products together! That's dangerous!) Roaches hate these cleaning products, btw. Either ammonia or Pine-Sol kills roaches on contact.
@minniesmomma6374 Жыл бұрын
I have been told never to use pine-sol because it attracts the big cockroaches. They live in the bark of pine trees.
