The damage is so severe. I wouldn’t know what to do. The inside of everything from electronics to baseboards are ruined and need to be replaced. What a terrible situation. Glad you are there to help them through this difficult process. It’s not always about cleanness (this house is clean), we all have food in our cabinets. A lot of times, it’s someone with health or cognitive issues and something as simple as mail, a guest, or neighbors caused an infestation.

Cleanliness has a big part of roaches infestation. Yes they can survive just pretty much anywhere but the more dirty your house is the easier it is for them to feed and reproduce when the place is a mess. Dirty, greasy kitchens are usually where they thrive. And it also makes it easier for us pest control technicians to work in an area that is clean. Will increase the chances of getting rid of the roaches faster.

I was shocked it was a German behaving like a wood roach! Is terminex a scam? Please help me ! I’m not impressed with terminex being so laid back about this like they don’t wanna do anything but wait for things to explode! I could never comfortably live in a home with a cockroach infestation even after treatment. There is no way to fully clean a house with a huge infestation without ripping everything in out including the cabinets and furniture. The idea that there will be 1000's of dead cockroach carcasses and droppings in every nook and crannie, in vents, in the TV under the cabinets, etc would leave me grossed out just knowing they are there. And that does not even count what is lying dead inside the walls.

It is AWESOME to see you wearing gloves, the only other thing I would recommend is safety glasses. I had a pair that looked like sun glasses but were clear. When spraying your B&G in cabinets and tight spaces it is real easy to get some blow back and pesticides get absorbed EASILY through the eyes. Stay safe brother.

Does the IGR also kill over time with residual or is it simply a growth regulator? Awesome stuff man! Fun to watch and informative!
@xCCflierx Жыл бұрын
As the name suggests, Tekko Trio has Three active ingredients. Hydroprene, Novaluron, and Pyriproxyfen. All three of which are growth regulators. Growth regulators by design will kill pests "over time." These growth regulators prevent molting. Normally an insect would molt it's old exoskeleton as it grows too big for it. The IGR tells the insect to not molt, and the insect will continue to grow and get crushed by its own exoskeleton. The label itself has reapplication limited at a minimum of once every 14 days, which usually implies that it provides residual control. Their website advertises it will inhibit against reinfestation for up to 6 months

@DanTheBugMan Жыл бұрын
It's on my video list but it may be a while before I get to it!! Thanks for the suggestion! Maybe just a couple tips right now though? - Empty and depressurize the B&G every night. If certian chemicals get left for a long period of time they start to conglomerate - There is a screen at the end of the B&G that prevents large particles from going through the final fan or stream tip. Be sure to clean the filter often and if something gets stuck in the final end piece, use a needle to poke out the debris

When bait stations FIRST came out they used wood as a detection and monitoring method, that is no longer the case. Bait stations are preloaded with recruit bait so they are effective the moment termites find the bait station.
@DanTheBugMan Жыл бұрын
I believe you but I have personally seen bait stations with just wood in them. Im sure each company does it differently
@gr8fulnbama439 Жыл бұрын
@@DanTheBugMan I'm sure he's talking about the Sentricon baiting system. It first started with 2 wood strips in the each station which you checked Quarterly. If you did find termites on the wood you had to take the strips out and then install the recruit bait., very quickly at that. Then in around 2011, Dow came out with Always Active bait in each station which you check every 6 month or yearly. Our company did it yearly, every 6 months is overkill and disturbs the baits too much.

So when you were inspecting the crawl space did you pull back the insulation at the edges and inspect? If you don't there could be termite activity fight in front of you and you won't see it. A couple of tools that will make inspections a lot more thorough is a moisture meter and an infra red camera. A lot of the times you will not see and mud tubes but a spike in moisture behind a wall is a really good indication that there are termites behind the tall. The infrared camera can confirm the presence because you will see the heat from the insects in the mud tubes behind the wall.

That is crazy throwing bait up in an attic when you have no idea how bad the problem is. It could lead to the entire house smelling like death for a week or more as well as creating a blow fly problem. Have you ever used a bucket trap? You pour some anti freeze and water into a five gallon bucket, you have a board the runs up to the edge, there is a deadfall trap what dumps the mice into the bucket as they try and get to the peanut butter bait. I have caught 30 mice in one night in an attic in Washington DC using this method. The best part is the antifreeze preserves the dead mice for a while so there is no smell, you can put the bucket in the attic and come back three days later to check it and there will be no smell. Just KZbin mouse bucket trap and there are tons of videos that show you how to make them. It can potentially avoid having a really angry customer who's house smells of death.

You know as well as I do you CAN'T spray pesticides in a cabinet that is full of cooking implements, plates, glasses, silverware, etc. I am not sure if this is just a training issue or you are just half ass'ing it! I worked for a company called American Pest in the Washington DC Metro area. American Pest had incredibly high standards, the amount of training we got was second to none, both in the classroom and in the field. We got 250 hours of classroom training and I rode with the most experienced techs for six months before I was allowed to operate on my own. During the training I also had to study and pass my state certification test in order to operate on my own. I know what I am talking about here. Heck I would be happy to come down and ride with you and give you training to make you a better pest management professional.

First of all, I understand your concern. However, I am not violating the label during this treatment. A direct quote from the tekko trio label reads: "Thoroughly spray all areas where these pests may hide paying attention to places such as... CABINETS". No where on the label does it state that all items need to be removed from cabinets before treatment. The label also states that if any food or food preparation items get the product on them, then thoroughly wash before use. During my treatment, I try my best to not get any product on the food preparation items. I do believe that nearly all of the time, no food preparation items come in contact with the product. However, just to be sure, I always tell the customers to be sure to wash any plates, utensils, etc. before use, after I treat the home. With all this being said, I am not perfect and I am always improving my application techniques. I am going to start asking customers to prepare for the treatment in the ways you mentioned.

@DanTheits not practical to expect the cabinets to be emptied because you can bait where you cant spray and if you do the account on a regular basis you will at some pointcover every location plus if you insist on having empty cabinets you would be waiting a long time to get the account started and eventually the customer loses interest and the initial urge for action is gone.you have to strike while the iron is hotBugMan

11:14 Not gonna lie, I would be LIVID for being billed monthly for a service that wasn’t done that month. I’m supposed to be paying you for a service, not a subscription.

They really need to close up all the gaps. Put bug mesh over all the vents, and stoppers on any drains when not in use

Lived in several infested places in my life. All I can say is that German roaches may be harder to get rid of, but American roaches are _way_ more disgusting and horrifying to even look at much less live with. At least German roaches don't get to be gigantic
