My hype comes from first hand experience what I played out of the top demo (100% sure I saw more load screen than gameplay) I still tell in love with the game over the 12 or so hours I had with it.

I agree that misinformation is a huge problem for the game. We do not know how much shards cost. That being said the best but also scariest thing about the "leaked" picture is that items are purchasable for both in game and paid currency but without knowing how fast one can earn the in game currency or how much the premium currency costs we really cant say anything bout the pic. The other main thing I'm curious about is whether there will be items that can only be gotten with the paid currency, the photo doesn't show that, but it doesn't show everything in the store and we have no idea at how this store will shape up in the future. I played (at least attempted) in the VIP demo and while the biggest issue I had was the infinite load screen, I also encountered issues trying to form groups with my friend. Either of us would send an invite to the other and then we would hit ready, then for some reason the game would just randomly unready us, and when we finally got through that glitch we'd end up hitting the load screen bug anyway so in the end I never got to try anything except for story sadly. I am hoping I'll be able to try the open beta (refuse to call it a demo cos if I do I'd have to start judging it as a demo, which this game really doesn't want) and hopefully i can test the coop play for this game. Sorry for the wall of text, this vid is very good and I thank you for being somewhat of a voice of reason amidst a sea of misinformation and animosity. Btw even though I only played the ranger, its my favorite too.

Hi. nice commentary about the Anthem's cash shop. One thing, did you notice that the tabs on the top - to the right of "Featured." The next tab says "Crafting." Does it means the cash shop will be selling crafting materials as well? I

As long as most of the cosmetics can be earned by ingame currency aswell as premium currency It should be fine. The good thing about being able to pay for it is that people who cant invest a lot of time but do have some cash to spend can also look nice. And for me, I hope they make it a bit of a grind for ingame currency because I like working towards something and am going to feel way more rewarded when I spend a lot of hard earnd coins on an awesome skin. People crying about that its not cool if it takes some time unlocking skins with ingame currency should stop playing rpg, mmo and lootershooters haha.

@Chris Goodworth The devs have confirmed that there'll be no cosmetics only purchasable using real money. If you can buy it with your cash, you can earn it in game. However, there will be cosmetics locked to gameplay that you can't purchase with real money, so it gives you that challenge to work for it.

despite backlash, i feel that EA will never learn. they backed down on Star Wars Battlefront II after the enhanced weight of the gaming world was burdened on them, but even that took a lot of voicing and time for EA to actually do something for the good. So just observing this shows how much EA really wants to stick to their methods of making money which should strongly be discouraged.

Dantics Nice Gameplay much of the others didn't show as much of the action that I seen. Does not look bad at all any idea on Gear/Gun options? It's a bit unclear if you have options far as weapons go. Seems almost like a Warframe/Destiny baby. If that's the case I'll still wait to buy but only cause Skepticism due to EA otherwise I'm likely sold.

To me, Anthem is looking like the boy who was bullied and looked down upon at first, but pushed through it all and grew into something amazing. I really hope Anthem does well, I played the VIP demo and Open demo and loved it. I hope EA doesn’t mess this one up by ruining it with micro transactions, iv always been one to try a game first than judge, but if EA messes this one up, it’s over for them.

Guys if you look at starwars bf2 Crystals packs, its about 4-5 bucks for 500 crystals so its possibly like one dollar/pound for 100 shards, so for the skins available in the screen shot its about 16 to 20 bucks, and thats just a purple epic skin, holy fuk how much will a legendary skin cost?

A lot of people don't like the colossus but let me tell you how I play him. First fly into/ near enemy's. Second battle cry and raise the shield. Third charge in and equip my lightning coil and flamethrower to get combo damage. Repeat

It does have micritransactions. But Bioware seems to be adamant about making them fair and only cosmetic. You can play single player. But the game is only playable online.

Finally a positive video! Thank you! I played the demo and, in spite of the initial difficulty, I had a blast and was sad when it was over. I am greatly excited to get back into game and am also really tired of the anger. Lately it just seems like people are looking for things to be angry about instead of just... enjoying playing a game. EA has been pulling microtransaction bait and switches for game after game, adding horrible mtx systems 3 months after release. There is no reason to trust that the microtransaction leak won't turn out to be a problem because EA have lied over and over again.

I'll say, my experience of the vip demo left me pleased about the colossus. Much like my problem with shotguns in video games: no one ever does thick boys right. However in Anthem, it felt exactly like what I want the colossus to be. As long as I was smart not having a shield like the others was fine, the physical one even recharges. I didn't get absolutely nuked for taking aggro. And my damage meant something. And the icing on the cake? I wasn't slower. My buds didn't have to wait for my fat self to lumber over because we all actually have the same movement/flight. So I actually for once, even against a true boss, could go toe-to-toe with them: I truely didn't need a dodge. Albeit I did go down more often than my mates, but when you Pull Everything I expect that. But it also wasn't going down every 5 seconds, it wasn't even every 2 minutes, it was a legitimate gradual burn of my hp.

@@HuchiaZ I think the taunt skill needs a tweak, like damage reduction or limited invulnerability while active, but otherwise I felt the same way. Did you ever put your shield up and run through a pack of enemies? It's awesome! Didn't work on the enemy colossus with their shields up, but all the little guys went flying. I think it's actually a really good form of CC.

@@PortaPunch oh absolutely, next to glorious explosions it was my next prefered method of fighting lol. Taunt was...interesting? I didn't see much use to it since I seemed to generate a large amount of 'aggro' to begin with, thus I mainly used the rally one to buff my squishier friends lol. I think if it gave you a dr buff and/or affected a larger area (and circle instead of cone) it would be a lot more useful. But that could be a matter of better set up with team play.

Hey Dantics, I'm one of your newer subbers, and I really like the content you make, so keep up the good work and thank you very much for all your work! Why I am started to write this comment is that I need to state that how much I hate the sheer hate and dumbness and incorrect statements that floods anything that related to Anthem. Do we had issues with the VIP demo? Yes. They lied about it? No, they stated, that they messed up (well actually only partial fault others were invisible, like the infinite loading screen). Do BioWare give information about the game openly? Yes, they do. Just because something is EA related does not mean it is bad. People need to start looking into the stuff before they state anything, or at least try to gather some relevant information, and, if they still not sure what to say, wait until they have more. And no, I do not want to defend EA, what they did with the Battlefront II lootboxes is plain evil and rotten, glad that Belgium, France and other countries regulate and ban this in the current form (same goes to Activision, Ubisoft, etc, but there are some companies that started to learn (or it seems they started to learn)). Nice comment. When someone say something is bad just because its EA just ask them about Titanfall 2. One of the best ego shooters of the last few years. With my personally most favourite ego shooter single player campaign of all time. Microtransactions were optional, not intrusive and with clear price tags. But no it has to be bad because EA BAD!!!!

@@Asternius Nobody hated Titanfall 2. People liked it. The problem they had with it was that EA released it at the same time as another big game release and barely put any marketing into it. And Titanfall 2 suffered for it. EA's decisions made Titanfall 2 fail, which is a shame.

Unfortunately, if everyone waits 1-2 months, EA will probably just can Bioware for good. So the choices seem to be: 1) pre-order and hope it's good (not recommended, even though I probably am), 2) wait 1-2 weeks after the official launch (3 weeks after early access), or 3) never get it because if EA doesn't get enough sales money, the game stops existing and EA cans Bioware to make up for the loss of money and the only people who lose are Anthem fans and Bioware. The thing I don't understand is the concern over spending full price on a game that's likely to last a long while when people go buy a full priced story-based game (Spider-Man, God of War, etc...) and play it only once. Yes, EA is greedy, so be wary. Wait a couple weeks. Just don't wait so long that the game fails **because** everyone is waiting to see if it's gonna be good. That would be the real shame.

The gun play for example is a terrible mess in this game as well as the menus. That being said I like the ability using side game. Flying narrow angles was a mess but flying out in the open was really enjoyable. The experience on fort Tarsis was terrilble and gave me motion sickness. I saw little to no variety in the demo and was only able to play it for about eight hours in total, while I took Friday and most of Saturday off and couldn’t play at all. Biased reviews like this really polarize the Fanbase because you are defending something that is undefendable. this is stubborn.

I hear you, but... You really skimmed over the micro-transaction thing and tried to play defender for a practice that is by-and-large exploited by all devs that use it. The game looks fun, don't get me wrong, and depending how the release goes, I might buy it. But just like how the prices in the store change, the rate at which you earn the in-game currency is likely going to be tweaked to be much slower than previous. It's a common tactic used by games that have premium currency and cash shops. I hope I'm wrong, but so far, a lot of stuff about this seems too good to be true. I'm... skeptical, I guess.

@@whywhy8324 I don't mean to intrude, but those are also two different release models. COD is an annual serial release game, obviously cashing in on it. Anthem is set up more like an mmo co-op shooter to stay for a couple years so there won't be more releases to bring more content that they can generate revenue. They don't plan on having paid dlcs or extra releases at this time so there won't really be much post launch support of content for a live service game without an extra source of revenue to come from it to support it's own content. It's not about profit, a live service game in of itself is like any business service in order to keep it running the business(live game not dev or publisher) has to put money back into itself to sustain itself and its workers to keep providing service. We pay for the product yes, but we may not be paying for the service, so optional cosmetics in a game like this is fine at least in my opinion, the team can't just work for free.

In fairness, I think he's taking a very reasonable stance on it at the moment considering it hasn't even been released. If anyone is afraid of being burned by EA, they should just wait until it comes out before making wild assumptions about it. Yo, EA is the publisher of Anthem, not the developer. Bioware is the developer. Look up the difference between a publisher and a developer and you'll see that bioware has all the rights to how this game is made and what happens. EA is more or less just an advertiser for Anthem which is Bioware's game, not EAs. They take a cut off of the top for advertising and distribution. I have the utmost respect for Bioware and I'm sure this will be an amazing game. But you go ahead and miss out on the best game out this year cause EA is advertising it.

Suspiciously Hard Because everyone ignores the other side which is people who work a ton and don’t have time to grind as hard but love the game. Cosmetics is the middle ground in all this. That way hard workers can get something they want because of time restrictions and hardcore players don’t have to worry about pay to win. What a load of crap from this EA shill. "Oh, it's not a single skin but seperate ones for all the armor pieces"...yeah, that makes the price SOOOO much better. Additionally, if we have multiple major games with MTZ pricing that establishes 100 coins/shards/whatever is a dollar, how is it in any way a stretch to think that Anthem is following suit? You think BW and EA are going to make Anthem a special snowflake and inflate the conversion rate to something weird like 500 shards for a dollar? 100 shards for $0.50? Everyone is assuming the same pricing model that they currently use in BF2, which is another EA shooter. It's also the same as Fortnite, the most popular game with MTZ features. What people forget is that it only takes a tiny minority of whales to drop huge money on this garbage to justify the prices. And they have to scale the in game grind (coins price) to match. If the skis cost $20 but you could grind that much in 30 minutes, nobody would buy their shitty shards. This is what happened in BF2, with it taking 40 hours to grind up enough to buy characters whereas the whales just put it on their credit card.

Thank you for making this video. Anthem is looking really great. Not only visually (it's GORGEOUS) but the gameplay is smooth and from what some have said, there is a going to be a lot of lore about the world that will interest the Bioware RPG fans like me. The demo in many ways was both a success and a disaster and I'm glad that the full game shows that they are patching things, working on fixes, etc. We all know Bioware especially, doesn't want the game to fail so they are trying which is comforting. EA however needs to try harder. The microtransactions can potentially be a big issue and have been in the past. I just hope if they do include microstrans. (which they most likely will bc EA) that nothing is Pay to Win. I despise that stuff but also I hope they don't focus on micros so much that in-game loot is lack luster in both quantity and quality. Like you said I'm tired of being mad, and I WANT to like the game. I'm more optimistic than most, but this game could really be something good for Bioware....

Thank you Dantics. I played the VIP demo with a couple friends and even with the loading issues and the friend pass issues we had a blast. The first time we ran the stronghold and fought the boss we got demolished but once we mastered it we ran it on hard until we were all geared out with rares. Since the demo concluded i been itching to get back on the game and max out another javelin. If what u experienced is really true and the game is way more polished then im gonna be a happy camper come February.

Playing an actual demo gives you actual info on some of the game mechanics, small section of the story if any and general taste of the in-game economy if its a looter shooter. But what the VIP demo felt like was just a closed beta under the guise of a demo.

If you don't mind playing on low graphics and not reach 45-60 fps you'll be fine. Though the minimum graphic unit should still be better than what the one x and 4 pro can offer it will likely look the same because of the optimizations made to console.

The outrage against that particular iteration was a message/feedback to EA saying that that iteration would have a negative outlook on the game if EA/Bioware thought of using that iteration or any similar iteration. None of the major youtubers have explicitly come out and said that this was the iteration Anthem would be going with. Those videos merely stated that that particular iteration was bad. As far as i know, no -one knows the actual values for the in-game economics as the dev did say, they iterate every day up until release.

You trying to put out the fires of misinformation about the microtransactions is actually doing more harm than good. The content of the complaints about the prices doesn't matter, it's about making it clear to EA that what we saw isn't acceptable and letting them know that from the start is vital. At least when someone assumes that the prices are going to be high they have mountains of evidence to back them up since this is what EA has done and is doing to this day. I want to know on what facts is he basing his conclusion that 'Ohhh its cool guys there is no reason to react badly!'. ZERO evidence to support such conclusion there for his point is totally void! PS. If you don't want people to react just come forward and say 'The prices were wrong we are pricing this skin at 5$ etc.' don't expect people to do your job for you when you have a product to sell and good rep to build. Seriously i feel like i am taking crazy pills when i have to explain how selling a product works to a multi billion worth company

@@frikabg I get what you are saying. Personally a company that invests millions of dollars into media and community directors and staff doesn't need youtubers to run interference, and the fact that EA is saying silent and letting youtubers defend them disgusts me. I'm not accusing dantics or youtubers like him of anything, I think they have their hearts in the right place, and I would never accuse them of making arguements like this in bad faith. Let EA defend themselves, they dont need youtubers for that.

Like I said the developer could simply step forward and say 'Well the prices that we are currently going with are $$$$$$' and that will be shut the mount of every 'critic' out there who says they are milking the cow too much. The reason that they are not speaks volumes to me because why would I not run interference with someone bad mouthing my product IF he/she is wrong? Mind you I am not payed to defend set product or being a big shot in a big game company but from where I am standing things don't make sense. I don't blame you tubers as well because with all do respect but people in general are gulable but facts are facts and when something doesn't look too god usually it is exactly because it is not :|

@@frikabg when bioware said the pricing was being adjusted and balanced and likely would be until release, I think that's the truth. But that doesn't mean they can't give us some concrete assurances such as, "can't say much, but armor packs definitely won't be $20." The fact that they can't even say that is what is stoking the fears that EA and it's bullshit are gonna come roaring back and destroy all the goodwill bioware built up.

The misinformation is real. It is bad, and it has consequences. I was at a GameStop just yesterday, and heard the rep telling people that the game was just a 'mass effect clone with a broken combat system filled to the brim with overpriced micro transactions.' Mind you this is for a game that isn't even out yet. No one outside of the dev team and EA knows what the pricing will be. Throwing arbitrary numbers to drum up hysteria shows bad character. Parading information you know lacks any concrete evidence. I believe a lot of the 'enraged' gamers think they are entitled to any post content stuff being added to a game at no additional cost. This is silly, and down right a stupid mentality to have. No other commercial industry has this silly mentality fostered. Note: Microtransactions that are cosmetic are optional. keyword here being OPTIONAL. If they do price them that high, and you are not fine with the prices, then do not buy it. No one, I repeat NO ONE is going to put a gun to your head and demand you purchase them. Cosmetic micro transactions being present in the game, does not mean that you have to have it.
